"Hey, you two lovebirds done whispering sweet nothings?" Chenle called out, finally noticing the pair on the couch.

"Jealous much?" Haechan shot back with a smirk.

"As if. Can't be jealous of something I already have," Chenle scoffed. "Plus, it's you two who are single, not me."

"You just can't handle competition for the sweetest couple," Yunchae teased, her words coming out before she thought them through.

Chenle didn't even bother to look her way. "All bark, no bite."

"Since when were you two a couple?" Xia chimed in, eyebrow raised as she eyed Yunchae and Haechan.

"That's what I'd like to know," Haechan added, turning to look at Yunchae, clearly intrigued.

"We aren't?" Yunchae blinked in confusion, then quickly backtracked, her cheeks flushing. "Oh, wait. I meant 'couple' as in a pair. You know, like two people? Best friends? Two peas in a pod?"

"Oh, Yunchae-" Haechan began, leaning in as if he were about to tease her further.

But before he could, Chenle cut him off. "Who wants to watch a movie?" His voice was loud, deliberately breaking the moment.

Yunchae quickly latched onto the escape. "I don't mind," she said, shrugging nonchalantly before glancing at Haechan. "You?"

"Anything, as long as I get to stay here with you," Haechan replied smoothly, leaning back with a satisfied grin.

Xia and Chenle exchanged amused glances, deciding not to push the teasing further.

For a moment, everything felt perfect - no schedules, no stress, just friends enjoying a quiet evening together. Haechan's arm remained draped over Yunchae, and she didn't mind one bit.

The next morning, the girls arrived at the entertainment company earlier than usual. It was still quiet, the city barely awake, and they were ushered into one of the cosy studios by staff. Mijoo, along with four producers, were already there.

Yunchae glanced at the producers, her eyes settling on one familiar face. She couldn't quite place where she'd seen her before, but something about her tugged at her memory.

As they all exchanged glances, the nervous energy in the room was evident. Yunchae felt her heart racing, a jittery feeling stirring in her stomach. She couldn't help but look around at her members, noticing the same anticipation on their faces. They all took their seats in the comfortable chairs SM had invested in—one of the few things Yunchae genuinely appreciated about the company. SM didn't spend money on a lot of wise stuff, it was mainly used suing their artists, but besides the point, Yunchae loved the fact they had bought these chairs. It's the small wins that count.
