My final week of work before the summer holidays got off to a good start. There was less work, and everyone was in a good mood. I was able to do practicals with all my classes. The twist in my week came at 3:48pm on Wednesday. Nathan had knocked on my classroom door.

"Hi." Nathan spoke, opening the door but keeping his hand on the handle.

"...Nathan. Are you allowed to be here? You uh- you don't work here yet."

"Probably not. I wanted to see you."

"Why?" I scoffed slightly.

He didn't answer me for a moment. He moved closer, almost centimetres away from me.

"That night...in Paris." He began. I was worried for what he would say next.
"It meant something to me. I didn't see it as a casual thing."

The blood rushed to my head, turning my cheeks a telltale shade of red. I felt my heart begin to beat a mile a minute to compensate.

"Did you think it was just a casual hookup for me?"

"...yes." I whispered, barely loud enough for him to hear.

"Was it a casual hookup for you?" Nathan asked, holding his head up with his fist. I saw him staring at me out of the corner of my eye.

"No." I whispered again.
"But it was a pretty stupid thing to do. For both of us." I shook my head, moving away from him so I wouldn't have to meet his eyes.

"Ha! Yes, it was. If we'd been caught, we would've been fired." Nathan chuckled as if he didn't particularly care.
"Which is why, if we did it again, we should probably find a more sensible setting. One of our houses with drinks or dinner beforehand?"

I looked out the window. Not at anything. I let myself look back slightly.

"I'm asking you out, Youssef." Nathan spoke, all confident with his hands in his pockets.

"Y-Yes, I know you're asking me out!"

"You just looked a bit confused." Nathan shrugged quietly, leaning on my desk.

"...sorry. I'm new to all this." I breathed out, crossing my arms across my chest.

"You've never dated? That's fine-"

"I've dated. Just...only women, so nobody I actually...liked." I shook my head, staring at the floor.
"Sorry. I don't want to say the wrong thing and...mess this up."

Nathan slowly walked closer to me until he touched my arm. I didn't pull away, thank god.

"I don't want to rush anything Youssef. I just want to get to know you better."

Nathan was now stood inches from me. In a strange way, I never wanted to leave this classroom.

"So, would you consider going on a date with me?" Nathan moved his hands to the base of my neck as he asked this.

I stared at him, more specifically his careless smile. I didn't understand how he could act like nothing was happening.

"I..."

I had lost my train of thought by him tilting his head slightly. At the very last second, just before his grip tightened, I blurted it out.

"I'll consider." I turned my head and received a slight laugh.

"Good. Well then." Nathan winked at me, dropping his hands to fix my collar.
"You have my number."

I watched him leave, this time with a smile. The events of today played in my head, especially when he officially asked me out. Then, it dawned on me.

"Nathan!" I called out just as he went to turn the corner.

"Youssef." He responded.

I walked towards him, checked that the corridor was empty before kissing him.

"I- uh- before, just when you asked me out- I wanted to kiss you but I got scared. Well, that's done, I h-have to go pick up Rocco. See you soon." I monologued, walking away as to not word vomit further.

"I'll see you soon." Nathan laughed.

I made it to my car before screaming. I suppose this is happening. I would think of ways to soften the blow on Rocco. I'm sure that with the correct coaching, Nathan will be able to win him over if the time comes. My lord, I hope it comes.

A/N:
I've copied like 9o% of this from the Teachers Mini Comic, I wanted to implement bits of their firsts and the mini comic throughout this and plagiarism isn't sexy so I'll at least be honest 🤗
