I'm running and I can't stop. I don't know what I'm running from. I'm in the woods, desperately trying to run away, but why? My lover is somewhere out here, I know he is. I can hear him call out to me.
"Y/n!" but I don't see him. It's getting dark and my clothes are getting torn from the branches. I smack them away as I keep going into this endless loop. I can't stop running. I feel ill and I know I'm lost, but he's waiting for me. I can't let him die like that. Not without me. He can't die. He won't die. I'm tired, I should probably rest. I am now sitting up against a tree as my eye rests themselves against my will. I want to keep running, but I am getting sicker. A hand touches my shoulder, I jump. "It's just me." My lover.

"What happened to you?" There's blood everywhere. I can't see where it's coming from, it's everywhere. I run my hands all over him, searching for the wound. I can't find it. "What's going on?" I cry.

"Everything's okay." He smiles, he holds back tears. "Let's go." He picks me up off the ground and we run together, hand in hand. Until we stop, he's tired. "I need to rest."

"You're going to die out here." I cry into the palm of his hand as he places it on my cheek.

"I just need to rest a bit. I am okay." He reassured me, but he's losing blood quickly. I need to help him. He can't die. He won't die. "You'll be okay, yeah?" I find the wound as he howls in pain.

"I'm going to save you." I promise although it is a promise I cannot keep.

"No you're not, y/n." He giggles. "You need to live. Let me go." A tear falls from his eye.

"I need to do something!" I shout. "Get up please! We need to get you home! Don't leave me here." I sob, putting pressure on his wound. At this point he's losing it fast. The wound is near his heart. "I still need you."

"You're the best thing I've ever gotten in life, y/n" He brushed the hair out of my face. "We'll meet again, okay?" He held up his pinky. "I promise I will find you when we are reborn. Live for me. I love you, y/n." He slowly closes his eyes.

"No!" I scream and sob as I kick the tree next to me. "Come back to me! I can't live without you." I rest my head on his chest as I sob. His blood on my hands as I scream his name. A name in which I can't remember. "You said you'd be with me forever!" My cries echoed as I heard a slight ringing noise in my ear.

I gasped as I shot up out of bed, barely breathing. I look over at the clock, 8am. I try to collect myself as I get up from bed, swinging my feet over and grabbing my phone. I rushed into the bathroom to splash cold water on my face as I looked at myself in the mirror. "Miko?" I yell for my dog. "Miko, it's time for a walk." I walk into the kitchen to find him laying on the floor. "Let's go." He stands up and stretches. I grab my phone and some earbuds as I walk out the door.

Me and Miko always did our morning jogs together. He'd run alongside me on the sidewalk. He wasn't too fond of people so he always stayed by my side. It wasn't an aggressive reaction just more of social anxiety in a dog. I remember taking him to the vet when he was diagnosed; he wasn't too fond of the vet either. These days he was going much better. Miko was a bigger dog; a golden retriever. His favorite way to spend the day was at home with me and his sister Piper, who was a cat. Miko loved Piper, but Piper liked her space.

I jogged up the street when Miko suddenly took off. He began to bark as he turned a corner. "Miko! Come back!" I ran after him and turned a corner to follow him down a street we had never been down. "Miko!" I kept running as I turned another corner, bumping into someone. "I'm so sorry." I paused as I saw Miko standing next to his feet.

"Is this your dog?" The boy asked. "Can I pet him?" I nodded as he bent down. Miko had never let anyone touch him before other than me. He doesn't even let my friend Minyu touch him and he's been around since I adopted Miko.

"I'm so sorry, he ran off. We were on our jog." I laughed. "He doesn't let people touch him, normally."

"Well I guess I'm lucky. Are you a lucky dog?" He smiled as Miko barked and tried to lick him. "What's his name?"

"Miko." I smiled.

"Oh nice. You're a good boy, Miko." He had a thick australian accent and freckles on his face. His hair was blonde and his features were sharp yet soft. "I'm Felix. I'm sorry for not introducing myself." He stood up to greet me.

"I'm y/n. It's nice to meet you." I shook his hand. "Do you live around here?"

"As of yesterday, I do." He smiled. "I move a lot so I'm never in one place."

"I grew up here. I live down the block. It's just me, Miko, and Piper."

"Piper? Do you have a daughter?" He asked.

"Oh, no." I laughed. "Piper's my cat."

"I'm sorry for causing so much trouble. I think your dog likes me." He laughed.

"You're the first. He's scared of everyone, but he seems to really like you." I got down on my knees and motioned for Miko to come to me. "We better get going. I'm sorry if he disturbed you. He's not usually like this." I stood up.

"No worries. I love dogs. It was nice to meet you too, Miko." He smiled as Miko barked and twirled in a circle. "It looks like we're neighbors too."

"We are." I smiled. "You'll definitely be seeing us more often. I think Miko has found his new favorite street."

"Come back and see me again." I nodded as I turned around and went back on my jog.

We turned the corner as I got down on one knee. "Miko that was really embarrassing." He sat there. "You hate people until it's a cute boy, huh?" I laughed. "That's enough jogging for today. Let's get you home."
