Rains and Us

As their lips parted, both gasped for air. Their breaths were heavy, while their faces tinted with blushy red. Joshua looked at Vernon who looked soft as moonlight, his lips a bit swollen looked inviting. Joshua bit his cheek to stop smiling thinking he had sucked too hard on Vernon's lower lip. His eyes met Vernon's which were intently staring at him. 

Vernon's lips were spread wide in a smile that lit Joshua's world. Before he realized, he mirrored the expression heartily. Vernon sat up straight leaving the position which now became uncomfortable due to the lack of contact with Joshua's lips. A smile appeared on his face when he saw Joshua's flushed face with all shades of pink. 

If he thought Joshua was pretty before, he is seeing heavens now cause how in the world someone can look so ethereal ? Suddenly a thought crossed his mind making him feel a bit guilty. "Uhm I am sorry. I should have asked you first" Vernon spoke startling Joshua. Though Joshua returned back the gesture with the same passion if not more, he still should have asked for his consent. 

"Uh it's fine.....yeah, it's fine" Jsohua stuttered at the sudden apology. Now that it dawned upon him, his mind went in shock. He kissed a stranger. He fucking kissed a stranger. Okay, he knows his name and where he lives and all. But still. 

Who the hell kisses a stranger only some hours after meeting them ? And that too as if world is ending the moment they stop kissing ? Well joshua did exactly that. What if Vernon thinks that he is that type ? Someone who fucks around and is looking for physical relations ? 

Well Vernon initiated so that can't be the case right ? And he genuinely likes Vernon even if it has been just some hours. Vernon is funny, a little but yes, knows what to talk, listens to Joshua patiently and is handsome of course. That's a good start right ? But what if Vernon is not looking for a partner ? He needs to know. 

"Hey, Joshua what happened ?" Vernon's voice made him come out of his thoughts. He looked up to find Vernon looking at him questioningly. "Uhh nothing......I just wanted to tell you something" Joshua said warily, not really confident of what he is going to say next. "Yeah, I am all ears" was Vernon's immediate response making tips of Joshua's ears go red. 

"Uhm.....I.. we kissed but uhm.....I am not up for friends with benefits kinda thing. I mean I.......don't get me wrong. We kissed but that's not what I want" Joshua shut his mouth. What the hell was he blabbering ? He was supposed to say 2 simple things. 

First, he isn't up for any only physical relationship kink. And second, he genuinely likes Vernon. But no, things never go his way. Or perhaps Joshua is not normal enough to do things the easy way. He waited for Vernon's response though he didn't want to hear anything. 

"Great, I am not up for that either. So can I take you out on a date ?" Vernon asked grinning. His eyes looked soft and fond, something Joshua missed all along. Joshua was shocked. Vernon wanted to date him ? Like actually asking him out and going on dates ? Jesus Christ, if he thought kissing Vernon was the best thing in the world, he was utterly wrong. 

"What ? You want to take me on a date ?" Joshua asked, his eyes wide with shock. "Why is it that surprising ? I kissed you. Of course I want to take you on dates. I like you" Vernon answered as he saw Joshua getting red like a tomato. The way Joshua made clear that he likes Vernon, indirectly though, was too endearing. 

How can someone be so adorable ? And of course he wants to take Joshua on dates and date him. "Uhm I like you too" Joshua ansewered some seconds later, his head lowered as his hands findgeting. Vernon's face lit up like he had seen star, his lips parted into a wide grin. Actually hearing those words in Joshua's gentle voice was no less than winning a lottery to Vernon. 

Joshua answered, not daring to look at Vernon. He was dumbfounded by Vernon's blunt proposal but he would be lying if he says he didn't love it. Vernon lifted Joshua's head by chin, looking at him with heart filled eyes. "So are we dating now ?" Vernon asked Joshua sheepishly. He was having too fun teasing Joshua. Joshua nodded meekly.
