The afternoon classes flew by, and before I knew it, the final bell rang. Luca and I had agreed to meet at the front entrance, so I made my way through the crowded hallways, dodging groups of students catching up on their summer adventures. When I stepped outside, the warm breeze felt refreshing against my skin. Luca was already there, waiting with his usual relaxed demeanor. He waved me over, and I jogged the last few steps to meet him.
"Ready to head home?" he asked, slinging his backpack over one shoulder.
"Yeah, let's go," I replied, feeling a sense of relief that the first day was over.
As we walked, we talked about our classes, teachers, and the familiar faces we had seen. It was comforting to know that some things hadn't changed, even as we entered our final year of high school.
"Do you remember our first day of freshman year?" Luca asked, a nostalgic smile spreading across his face.
"How could I forget?" I laughed. "We were so nervous, and we got lost trying to find the science lab."
"And then we ended up in the wrong class and didn't realize it until halfway through," Luca added, chuckling. "Good times."
We reached my house, and I turned to Luca, feeling grateful for his presence. "Thanks for walking with me. It really means a lot."
"Of course," he said, wrapping an arm around my waist. "We'll make this year unforgettable, just like I promised."
As I watched him walk away, I felt a sense of comfort and belonging that only Luca could provide. No matter what challenges lay ahead, I knew I could face them with him by my side
