Chapter 4 - Alexander's POV

"Where'd he go?" I ask, worried.
"Who?" says the youngest Schuyler (who apparently were the most popular girls in Hercules' high school and they were close friends).
I look back at them and answer: "My, err... friend, John."
As I turn around again I notice that also Laf and Herc are gone. What's wrong with everyone?
"We can help you look for him," says Eliza, the one dressed in light blue, smiling. "Right, girls?"
The oldest, Angelica, rolls her eyes. "Yeah. We will."
We're walking down the hallway, looking for John, when Peggy, the one dressed with a yellow tanktop asks me: "Hey, Alex, is it? Is there something going on between you and your 'friend' John?"
I freeze. "W-wh-"
"You know, I saw the way you look at each other, and... yeah, he just disappeared and you're looking for him with a bunch of strangers and this doesn't sound like just a friendly relationship..."
I look at her. Is it that obvious that I like him? Welp, he probably doesn't, so why should I bother...
"No. We're friends. We've just met today. I mean, I-"
"Also," she interrupts me, patting my shoulder, "I'm pretty sure my sister over there has a small crush on you. Like, a helpless type of crush." She points at Eliza, who's talking with her oldest sister.
Fuck. I knew that wasn't a normal handshake.
"Since you and John are friends, I could match you up with my sister? What do you say?"
I stay quiet for a couple of seconds. I mean, Eliza sure is a beautiful girl... And the fact that she's studying Medicine means she's also pretty smart and determined... but... I didn't feel a spark. At the same time, I think John may not be the right guy for me, I... I think he acted way too nervous with me even just today and that's not a good sign...
"I, uhh..."
She's looking at me with hope in her eyes. I think she'd already planned this couple ever since she first saw me or something like that.
"...I could be interested, I won't lie."
"Great! I'll tell her, she'll be so happy!" She runs to Eliza and talks to her. Eliza turns around to look at me and slowly walks towards me.
"Sooo... Any chance you're free this evening?" she asks.
I smile. "Well, courses will start in three days, so yeah."
"Great! Wanna grab something to eat?"
"Sure! Want me to give you my number?"
"Yes! Thanks."
She grabs my hand and we keep walking, looking for John.
We open the boys' locker room door and see John, sitting on the floor with tears in his eyes and Lafayette and Hercules trying to comfort him.
