Midoriya groans he was stuck in Mellissa lab for a couple hours missed some of last period, he rushes back to class hoping to explain himself to Mr Aizawa, as he rounds the corner he sees a small crowd surrounding his classroom with Bakugo shouting something. From what he overhears it looks like the people who didn't make it to the hero course, have a chance to prove themselves in the sports festival and take our spots in the hero course.
Midoriya doesn't have time to think about the enemies Bakugo made for them he pushes past the crowd as he, heads for his desk the muttering of his classmates are merely background noise he's got something more pressing on his mind.
The two hours in the lab wasn't for nothing turns out Mellisa did find something.
FLASHBACK
A beeping sound comes from the machine as Midoriya finally moves his hand out of the machine. "So you find anything?" He says as she leans back in her chair. "Yeah i did. I guess my dad configured the tech to mimic a real arm even the small things like static shocks, but it seems like your arm lets say upgraded the feature its more like a small electric shock." Midoriya stretches his arm out. "Can i control this." She presses a few buttons on the keyboard "Well it looks like it was programmed to be a random action but it also has a higher chance of reacting with an increase of blood pressure or heart rate." Midoriya nods Melissa spins round on her chair facing him "I could also turn it off if you like." Midoriya shakes his head "No this could be good if i can control it, it could help me win the sports festival."
END FLASHBACK
After grabbing his stuff from his desk he heads straight for the door making his way outside and head for the woods, he places his bag down and pulling out a lightbulb. "Alright looks like a safe place to test this out, Melissa said start small." He grasps the bottom of the bulb closing his eyes to concentrate Mellisa said increase heart could activate it but thats also caused by strong emotions he starts thinking about USJ about Thirteen how it was his fault. However the bulb remains dim. He groans "Wow i feel guilty about Thirteen but not as much as before, Mellisa's talk actually worked." He sighs "She couldn't have waited till after i got a grasp at these abilities."
He lays on his back as the wind blows past he hasn't really had a moment to think about the whole USJ event. The thought of Swordkill's cold, calculating eyes and the speed of his attacks sends a shiver down Midoriya's spine. His breathing quickens, and his grip on the bulb tightens. Suddenly, the lightbulb begins to flicker.
The feeling of being outmatched, and the fear of losing his friends. The lightbulb grows brighter with each passing thought, fueled by the fear and urgency that gripped him during those moments.
The lightbulb suddenly brightens fully and then blows, sending shards flying. Midoriya quickly covers his face to avoid the glass. Jolting up, he notices blood trickling down his hand from a small cut. "So it's fear. Makes sense," he mutters, packing up the broken glass. "That's why it activated with Kirishima-I was scared for Thirteen, wondering if she was going to make it or not."
He smiles despite the cut on his hand. "Step one complete. Now I can activate it. I just need to control it."
Days pass as the students of Class 1-A train in preparation for the upcoming UA Sports Festival. Each student is focused on honing their abilities, pushing their limits to ensure they are ready for the challenges ahead. Midoriya spends every spare moment working on controlling his new quirk, determined to master it.
In the training grounds( ground zone beta), Midoriya stands with his classmates, practicing their quirks in the large area. Sweat drips down his face as he concentrates on maintaining a steady flow of energy focusing it in his palm. He remembers Melissa's words and the fear that initially triggered his power.
Midoriya snaps out of his trance and turns to them. "Oh, uh, I'm just meditating. Yeah, gotta keep my focus. It really helps. I even heard it helps with quirk development."
Iida pushes up his glasses. "Yes, that does sound familiar."
A bead of sweat drops from Midoriya's forehead as he thinks, He's totally lying. I just made that up.
Uraraka's eyes widen with admiration. "Whoa, I didn't know that. Do you mind if I join?"
Midoriya shrugs, and she sits down next to him, mimicking his actions. Iida soon heads back to his training, trying to increase his speed.
Midoriya glances at Uraraka, who is diligently attempting to meditate beside him. Well, at least they're buying it, he thinks. He closes his eyes again, refocusing on controlling his quirk without drawing any more attention.
A few minutes pass in silence before Uraraka opens one eye and peeks at Midoriya. "So, Midoriya, do you really think this will help with our quirks?"
Midoriya opens his eyes and nods. "If I'm being honest i don't know but it does help you focus, and it could help with control of your quirk."
Uraraka smiles brightly. "That's so cool! Anything that will help me in the festival. I really need to do well."
Midoriya turns his attention to her. "You really want this, huh?"
She nods, her expression becoming more serious. "I don't really tell people this, but after everything, I feel like I can trust you. I want to do well for my parents. They did a lot to get me here. They struggle sometimes, and if I can do well, I can get an internship and maybe become a hero. I could pay them back for everything they've done."
Midoriya's eyes soften as he listens to her. "That's really admirable, Uraraka, and I'm honored that you trust me with that. I'm sure you'll make them proud."
Uraraka blushes slightly but smiles. "Thanks, Midoriya. That means a lot. What about you? Why do you want to be a hero?"
Midoriya looks down for a moment, gathering his thoughts. "I've always wanted to be a hero, ever since I was a kid. I want to save people with a smile, just like All Might. And... well, I want to prove to myself that I can do it, even though I didn't have a quirk growing up."
Uraraka's eyes widen. "That's incredible, Midoriya. You've already come so far. I know you'll be an amazing hero."
He smiles at her encouragement. "Thanks, Uraraka. Let's both do our best in the festival and show everyone what we're capable of," he says, holding his fist out.
She nods enthusiastically. "Yeah, let's give it everything we've got!" she says, bumping her fist against his.
With renewed determination, they both return to their respective training. The Sports Festival is looming, and they are ready to face it head-on, knowing they have each other's support.
