A devastating punch is thrown, smashing into a wooden tree, causing the splinters to scatter. Midoriya releases a heavy breath. "All right, that was pretty good. Just got to keep my control, and I should be all good for the festival."

Suddenly, Midoriya hears explosions in the distance. He walks closer and, to his surprise, he sees Bakugou with sweat dripping from his fingers, increasing the blasts of his explosions. Midoriya decides to step away quietly; however, he accidentally steps on a stick, causing Bakugou to spin around, eyes blazing with anger.

"Deku, what the hell are you doing here?!"

Midoriya turns around to face him. "Same as you, I guess-training. Focusing on control."

Bakugou scoffs, his face twisting in rage. "Of course you would, with your defective quirk! I still don't know how you got that quirk, and I ain't buying that late bloomer crap. Just stay out of my way at the festival, 'cause I intend on winning."

Midoriya clenches his fist. "It's not defective. In fact, I get the feeling it's just as strong as your quirk."

Bakugou's eyes narrow dangerously, his sneer turning into a furious snarl. "You really believe that, don't you? You think you can just waltz in and act like you're on my level? Don't get your hopes up, Deku. I've been training my whole life for this! You're just catching up."

Midoriya meets Bakugou's blazing gaze, unflinching. "I know how strong you are, Kacchan. But I've been training hard too, and I won't back down. I'm aiming for the top as well."

Bakugou's snarl intensifies. "Tch. Fine! You wanna go right now let's see who's best." Midoriya scoffs. "I'm not fighting you, when we have the festival ."

Bakugou smirks as he lifts his hand, placing it on Midoriya's shoulder. "Suit yourself," he says as an explosion shoots from his hand, sending Midoriya flying backward.

Midoriya crashes into a tree, gasping for breath as he stands back up, clutching his shoulder. "What the hell, Kacchan?!"

Bakugou advances, eyes blazing. "You think you can just brush me off like that? Prove it, Deku! Prove that your quirk is as strong as mine!"

Midoriya steadies himself, glaring back at Bakugou as he wipes blood from his now bleeding lip. "I don't need to prove anything to you. We'll settle this at the festival, where it counts."

Bakugou growls as Midoriya stares back "But if you really want a fight." He murmurs, as he leaps forward off his cybernetic leg smashing his normal fist into Bakugou holding back his strength, landing a punch square on Bakugou's jaw. Bakugou stumbles back, his eyes widening in disbelief.

Bakugou wipes the blood from his mouth, a smirk growing on his face. "That's more like it," he says, clearly enjoying the confrontation. "I expect you to bring this same energy to the festival." With a final look at Midoriya, he turns around and heads back toward UA, his explosive gait echoing his fiery determination.

Midoriya watches him go, the weight of the encounter settling in. He knows the festival will be intense, but now he's even more resolved to prove himself.

As Midoriya heads back to his training spot he notices rustling in the bushes as a bob of blonde pops out as Midoriya realises it's Melissa.

As Midoriya heads back to his training spot, he notices rustling in the bushes. A bob of blonde hair emerges, and Midoriya realizes it's Melissa.

She steps out, brushing off her clothes, and her eyes immediately land on Midoriya. "Hey, I was looking for you. I got a surpri-" She doesn't finish her sentence as her gaze locks onto the cut on his lip.

Her expression shifts to concern. "What happened to your lip?"

Midoriya touches his lip, trying to downplay it. "Oh, it's nothing. Just a small cut from training."

Melissa steps closer, her worry evident. "Even if it's small, you should get it cleaned up."

Midoriya nods. "Yeah, I'll make sure to do it before the festival. So, what did you bring?" He notices the box she's hiding.

"Oh right," Melissa says, her face brightening "Well first off your Mom told me you skipped breakfast to get here early, so i brought you some snacks like a little boost. These are pretty good to keep your energy up." Midoriya smiles as he looks inside "Wow this is amazing, to be honest i was getting pretty hungry." He says reaching in to grab an energy bar.Melissa brushes a strand of hair behind her ear, her concern softening into a warm smile. "I also got you something else. Well, I made it," she says, pulling out a pair of goggles. They're blueish-green with slightly thick lenses and an adjustable strap. (Pic above)

Melissa grins. "They're custom-made. Not only do they protect your eyes from debris, but if you tap the button on the right lens once you get thermal vision the lenses and the lenses show a environmental analysis scans the area giving you information about your surroundings like hazards and structural weaknesses. And you can use it in the festival."

Midoriya's eyes light up with excitement. "That's amazing! You're incredible, Melissa. This will definitely be a huge help. Thank you so much!"

Melissa smiles, her eyes twinkling with satisfaction as a blush rises to her cheeks. "I'm glad you like them. I just wanted to make sure you have everything you need for the festival. You've been working so hard, and I want to support you however I can."

Midoriya takes the goggles and examines them closely, noting the high-tech features and thoughtful craftsmanship. "These will definitely come in handy. I really appreciate it." He looks down at his phone checking the time "I should probably head over we will probably start soon and i need to change into our sports uniform." She nods as they walk back together.

Class 1-A lines up at the entrance of the arena, their uniforms freshly pressed and their faces a mix of determination and nervousness. The energy among the students is electric, with everyone focused on the challenges ahead.

Midoriya adjusts the new goggles Melissa gave him, the lenses glinting in the sunlight. He takes a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart. Beside him, Uraraka and Iida exchange last-minute words of encouragement.

"Remember, just do your best and stay focused," Uraraka says, her usual cheerful demeanor slightly overshadowed by the gravity of the situation.

Iida nods in agreement. "We've prepared for this. Just keep your mind on the task, and we'll do fine."

Midoriya gives them both a reassuring smile. "Thanks. Let's give it everything we've got."

They step forward walking into the arena as the crowd roars with excitement. As they walk into the arena, Present Mic's voice booms over the loudspeakers, amplifying the excitement in the stadium. "Ladies and gentlemen, heroes in training, and fans of all ages-WELCOME to the UA Sports Festival!"
