I couldn't believe my eyes as I watched him walk away.

"Was Tony involved in everything that happened?" I whispered, letting out a sharp breath.

No, he wouldn't. Would he?

I couldn't shake the feeling of betrayal as I stared at the place he had just been standing.

“No, he wouldn't do this,” I whispered to myself in disbelief.

I shook my head and began to pace back and forth.

As the door suddenly opened, I held my hand in the air.

“Woah. Hey, what's wrong, Bethy?” Wanda asked as she walked in.

She stared at me, concerned as I shook my head and continued to pace.

“Tony. Is he here?” I asked, in agitation.

She nodded, “I think he and Pepper are upstairs in his lab. Why? What's wrong?” She asked.

I ignored her and continued to pace back and forth, James’ words still spinning in my head.

“Can you watch my kids for a while?” I asked.

She nodded, a frown on her face. “Of course,” she replied immediately.

I sighed before giving her a grateful look. “Thank you, Wanda. I'll be back as soon as possible,” I reassured her before I made my way to the door.

“Don't kill him. Remember he's got another kid on the way!” She called after me.

I scoffed a laugh and shook my head as I headed to the door.

Determination was the only thing that was clear in this situation.

Whether or not my brother was going to survive remained to be seen.

Tony's POV:

I messed up. I knew I had.

I shouldn't have interfered in my sister’s personal life.

I knew it was going to come back to bite me eventually, but I didn't expect the reactions I would receive once everyone found out.

Pepper was still angry with me, in fact, I hadn't been sleeping in our room for the last week.

As I got lost in my thoughts, I heard the door slide open, and someone entered the room.

Their footsteps softly echoed as they made their way to where I sat, staring out the large glass wall.

“Why?” She asked.

I could hear the hurt in that one word, and I knew how badly I screwed up as she stared at me, eyes gleaming with hurt and underlying anger.

As she spoke, her voice broke through the silence of the room and my thoughts. My stomach clenched at the thought of hurting her or causing my sister pain. It hurt more than any words she could say.

But I screwed up and it was time to face the consequences of my actions.

I felt a wave of hurt as I said, "Y-you’re the reason that Bucky stayed away for so long, the reason why he left me." trying to hold back all of my emotions.

He looked at me guiltily and nodded.

"I can’t believe you would hurt me like this. How could you do this to me?" I asked, my voice filled with pain.

"I did what I thought was best for you," he stated.

I gave him a disbelieving look. "You don’t get a say in who I have in my life. Did you forget that you all but abandoned me after you left for college? Our parents... Our parents died and you abandoned me. What about when I was kidnapped? What makes you think that you can decide what happens in my life when you haven’t been here?" I retorted.
