How could I gaze at
Such beauty as a
Sunset when here you are
Sitting beside me?
Your face reflects the golden light
And your smile
Reflects my joy.
I can only take in the
Sight for so long before
The sun sinks
But still the glow of your skin in the
Dusk is so very
Effervescent.
And I would continue to take in
This,
The sight of you,
For all of my days.
Or, if by cruel curse or willing God
I am to
Become blind,
Let it be by the view of your
Presence.
Let it be by the tinted green of your
Eyes.
By the strands of your tussled hair
That linger on
My mind.
Let it be, but not
Without memory
Of the lovely vision that is
You.
So, I will stare
And rejoice
And remember.
