{Neoma Lupin}
I run my thumb over the ridges of my necklace, the cold metal on my fingertips seemed to soothe me. I stare out the window of the train watching as the platform filled up excessively, my mind wanders as I think of what my year might entail back at school, hopefully a quiet one.
Last year my father joined the school, defence against the dark arts, when he mentioned it at the start of the year I had a feeling in my chest that it would be a mistake, everyone knows the dark arts position is cursed, well rumoured anyway, I ended up being right, people found out about his secret and he ended up leaving.
"Neoma," my brother calls impatiently, "I've said your name a million times, it's like your in your own little world"
Neoma, means new moon in greek, my father thought it was fitting to name me after something he feared the most, he likes to remind us not to let our fears take over our life.
"What," I say groggily despite being awake for hours.
"I'm going to find my friends will you be okay by yourself?" He asked with the deepest concern on his face, I laughed to myself a little upon seeing his expression.
"Yes, yes I'm not 11 anymore you don't need to worry about me arche," I smile in attempt to reassure him but he doesn't look convinced, I'm guessing it's his natural big brother instincts.
Arche, also means moon but I won't bore anyone with the details, plus less about him.
We part ways and I look around like a lost child trying to catch a glimpse of any of my friends, I sink back into my seat with relief when I see Pansy and Blaise.
Pansys pale complexion and dark hair gave her an ominous yet encapsulating look about her, the sage green jumper she had on only enhanced her natural beauty.
Blaise towered over her, his dark skin and sharp jawline made him look, if I may say so, very handsome. As much as he was attractive I've never seen him as more than a friend, I always came to Blaise with my problems, he was always the one with the best advice.
Theo and Astoria arrived next, ever since they got together last winter they've been inseparable ever since, it's very adorable I must say but it would be a lie if I said I don't get jealous of them from time to time.
"No Draco yet?" I ask sarcastically as me and him have not always seen eye to eye to say the least. Insufferable is probably the word I'd use to describe Draco Malfoy, if I was feeling generous.
"Why, do you miss him?" Pansy asked sparking laughter in the group as it was kind of an ongoing joke.
"What's so funny?" A bitter remark came from the blonde boy who had just sat down with us.
"Speak of the devil," I mumble, he just brushed it off with a cold glance.
"Apparently there's some sort of party in the common room later," Blaise cut through the awkward tension, Draco raised his eyebrows in interest.
"Is everyone going?" Astoria asked sweetly after giggling over something Theo had whispered to her.
"Definitely, first party, I need it after this summer, I've done fuck all," pansy sighed.
The rest of the train ride went relatively fast as we all filled each other in on our summers, however mine wasn't very descriptive, nothing really interesting happened that I felt worth sharing.
When we arrived to Hogwarts I finally felt at peace, seeing the outstretched tables and the candlesticks that floated graciously above us.
Despite going into my fourth year, I'm still amazed by this.
