After the whole Crackstone incident and their school year getting cut short, the time came to return to Nevermore for a new year. Wednesday, who had been reluctant to go back at first was now eagerly awaiting. She had a new mystery to solve, the stalker, who kept sending her pictures of her and her...classmates throughout their enforced vacations was her top priority.

She had eventually threatened Xavier to give her Enid's number after she got a series of pictures of the wolf taken from afar. She texted her one day after she got ahold of her number asking how she was, just to make sure she was...alive.

Once Enid found out she had a phone, her messages poured in on a daily basis, and by the hour...they even got to video call every once and a while...until the last month before going back. Enid had become a bit distant towards Wednesday, her texts stopped being constant and the video calls came down to zero. Not that Wednesday minded yet she found it...curious.

So when the time came, Wednesday was up and ready to leave, hoping to arrive before Enid and so they could talk properly.

This year Pugsley would also be joining her at Nevermore, this gave her a pan of annoyance yet she could use him to help with her investigation at some point. This was still to be determined.

She did manage to arrive at their shared dorm earlier, so she settled in as she waited for her roommate. Around an hour had passed, and she was fully unpacked. Enid had yet to arrive. She decided to take a shower and start working on the evidence she had on the stalker. She knew she couldn't set up a proper board because they could be watching her at this very moment for all she knew but she could still organize what she had in a more subtle way.

While in the shower, she heard the dorm door click, open and close. She knew Enid was home once she heard her shoes drop one by one around where her side would be. A warmth spread around Wednesday's chest, she grunted, shaking off the vile feeling.

Enid sighed and plopped on her bed after taking off her shoes. The trip from San Francisco to Nevermore was never easy. Her brothers were insufferable during the whole flight, to the point that she was embarrassed to even acknowledge them. That is why arriving at their dorm was a bliss. Her nose filled with a familiar scent she could never get enough of, it felt like home and gave her peace. She heard the shower before entering the room. Her senses had been enhanced since the last time they were there, she had also started her second puberty, making her grow several inches and her body more toned without even training much. She also felt more...mature in a way. The traumatic experience they suffered with Crackstone and the Hyde had definitely changed her. She had nightmares where she hadn't won and Tyler killed her, others where she didn't get there fast enough, and when she did Wednesday was dead on the ground, and others where she never shifted, fighting the Hyde in her human form only to get killed yet again.

The worst ones were the ones where Wednesday didn't make it back. She knew deep down that her wolf was called by her, by the need to protect her, she didn't want to think too much about it but she knew there was more to that than she originally thought. A blood moon wolf was not common to come around with and she knew the implications as to why or how she managed to shift...the idea of it scared her though.

"How would Wednesday take it if she told her? How did that even happen? Was she even...?" All these questions were roaming her mind over the past month, questions left unanswered yet still present in her mind. While she was lost in deep thought, she hadn't noticed the shower had stopped and a fully dressed Wednesday was standing right where their invisible line divider used to be.

Frozen, her eyes narrowed at her, questioning, "Enid?" Her voice was barely a whisper. "Your...hair..." Wednesday breathed out.

Enid lifted her head, standing up abruptly, walking slowly toward the center of their dorm, "Hiya Roomie!" She said smiling timidly at her. "Do you...like it?" She played with the tips of the short, slightly wavy, and now brunette hair, her cheeks had a pink tone to them now, "It's hm, my natural color..." She was now fidgeting her fingers nervously in front of her. She couldn't explain why she was feeling like this.
