Hi everyone! It feels so great to finally be back :D
Okay, first off, apparently I need to take breaks more often because holy crap there are so many of you now?? I leave for two months and suddenly this fic quadruples in views?? As of when I'm posting this chapter, we're sitting at almost 19k views and I'm genuinely in awe and disbelief. Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this and I'm so excited that you're all here!! :3
I know this update is coming a little bit later than I originally promised, but so much has been going on in my personal life (mostly good things) that has been making it difficult to write as much as I would like. For those of you who aren't really interested in a life update, feel free to skip ahead to the actual chapter because it's all just gonna be me yapping about that for the rest of the author's note haha
So firstly, I started working full-time at my job! Yay me! I'm, like, an actual adult now :3 I've been struggling to find time in the day to do everything I would like, but I'm hoping I'll be able to find more of a rhythm soon so that updates can be a little more regular 🤞
When I say Whumptober kicked my ass, that's an understatement 😅 I was SCRAMBLING to get chapters out on time, and the whole thing just really burnt me out. If I'm being honest, a big reason why this update was late was because it took me a hot minute to start wanting to write again. BUT I'm finally starting to get excited about writing again, so now if I can just find the time to write, we'll be all set LMAO
Lastly, I'm directing a play at a community theatre near me :) And not only that (I think you all will really like this actually), it's "Hammered: A Thor and Loki Play" by Christian Borle!! Right up my alley haha :3 While I am so unbelievably excited to be getting the opportunity to do this, unfortunately that's just one more thing added to my schedule (and a pretty time consuming one at that).
So, the moral of this story is that while I am back, I don't think I'll be going back to regular updates. It DEFINITELY won't take me another two months to update again lmao, but I wouldn't expect them once a week like I used to do it. The plan is to just write when I can and hope that it's enough to give you guys something at least a couple of times a month (at least until things quiet down a little bit for me).
Thank you all for your continued support, and happy Thanksgiving to those of you who live in America!!

Thankfully Max didn't have to wait too long for Thor to come back, but considering that there was nothing for her to do but stare at the wall in front of her, the wait felt much longer than it should have.
There wasn't a clock in the room she was in (would clocks on Asgard even read the same as the ones on Earth?), but if Max had to guess, she would've said that Thor was gone for about a half an hour. She supposed it was possible that he'd made pit stops on his way back to the healing hall, but him having spent that much time away had to be a good sign, right? At the very least, it meant that Odin hadn't turned him down right away.
"Maxine," Thor greeted, stepping into the back room where Max resided. "I trust that you were well taken care of. How are you feeling?"
"I'm great, actually," she answered. "And yes, Eir was wonderful. My liver seems to be completely healed."
"Good, I am glad to hear it," he said. "If you are up for the conversation, I have news regarding my father and Loki."
Max sat up straighter in her seat and subconsciously held her breath. "Go ahead."
"It took a bit of convincing, however he has agreed to our plan," he informed her.
Max tilted her head and furrowed her eyebrows with bewilderment. "You mean he's letting me stay and help Loki?"
