~MIKAYLA'S POV~

"So, what's your story?"

I finally looked up at Daniel who was staring at me since we started to dance.

I guess he loves to stare. "What story?"

"Your life."

"Oh. Just as you are the prophecy child, I was, well still, the taboo child which you already figured out. My mom was a vampire, my dad was a werewolf and they fell in love. They married each other in secret from the vampires. My grandparents loved her and some vampires but the vampires hated and will always hate werewolves. Since my mom was apart of the royal family and her dad was and is still apart of the elders; they noticed something and found out that she had a secret life with a dog. My parents told me to run and stayed back to fight but they died. I was only three at the time. Damian found me, took me to his parents and hid my existence from the elders. He had a power that got prophecies and that's how the elders knew about me. But they took his powers and that's how they knew about you. You being the bridge that brings together witches and vampires, that's what they want. Me being the bridge that brings peace between the vampires and werewolves, that's what they don't want. They said it's either I work with them to rule the werewolves or I die, I'm not doing either so they still want me dead."

Oh my.

Vampires are some high egoistic creatures. "Yes they are. You know, I'm pretty sure they found out that you're tainted."

"What will happen?"

"It's either they kill you or wait for another prophecy. Though they would most likely want to kill you since I'm your mate."

Ohh. So I'm now a target. "Okay, unmarried ladies, why don't you make your way forward? Time for the bouquet toss."

As the DJ announced the traditional bouquet toss, Vanessa, beaming with happiness, grasped her bouquet and turned to face the crowd of eager unmarried women gathered behind her.

They're a bit too eager.

The air was electric with excitement and a hint of playful competitiveness. 'I don't want to here.'

With a sly smile, V closed her eyes, took a few steps back, and tossed the bouquet over her shoulder. The room erupted into cheers and squeals as the women surged forward, hands outstretched.

In the chaos, a few friends playfully shoved each other, laughing, while others leapt into the air, desperate to catch the prize.

I just stood there not doing anything but something fell on me.

The fucking bouquet. "V take it back and throw it again. I wasn't even ready yet."

Everyone went silent.

"Kayla, I wasn't the one who threw it at you. The girls were fighting for it and it decide to come to you. Looks like the bouquet have a mind of it's own."

Damn it.

"Well, looks like you're next!" She ran towards me and hugged me.

People cheered and I stood there bewildered. I'm next? That's crazy.

"Unmarried men, it's your time."

Daniel was no where to be seen. Damian looked around, then threw the gater so high that nobody tried to catch it.

As it continued to fly it suddenly got caught, by Daniel who just walked through the door.

He looked bothered. "Who the fuck threw something at me?"
