A/N: Read the author's note at last.
"....and it seems to spread through human contact, that is, open wounds, saliva, bodily fluids, and fungal contaminated water! Let us welcome today's guest, Dr. Jang Won Bin. Doctor, what would you say about the fungus?"
The Doctor beside the news reporter seemed to wipe his forehead too often, fidgeting around restlessly. "Doctor?"
"Ah, yes! The fungus. It's-uh- it's kind of a mystery among us doctors and scientists as well. We all- We had an international meeting but unfortunately we- we don't really have a solid answer for this. Until and unless the ones who are sick show some other symptoms other than fever, cold sweats, and nausea, it's quite hard to predict what is about to happen. All we know is that-that we cannot turn a blind eye to it."
"That was quite helpful, Doctor. There is something more that the general public is quite confused about. What is the origin– Where did the fungus come from?"
As the silence stretched on, the anticipation grew. Various answers came to mind, some dangerous, some predictable but no one could confirm. "Doctor?"
"M-Me."

A/N: Next chapter will be published soon.
So, this fic is kinda different from the romance ffs I usually write. While there will be romance, the main focus would be everyone's personal relationship with each other (platonic, hateful, romantic, indifferent) influenced by the circumstances. The world building will take some time as well. Since it's just an outlet for my burnout, I can't promise quick updates.
Yours,
Aru 💋
