[few weeks later]
"Babe," I heard Chance call out to me. "Where my black hat at?" He asked.
"The one with the red or white letters on it?" I asked as I was detangling my hair in the mirror.
"Red," he said as he appeared behind me.
"Second shelf in the closet to the left," I instructed as he followed.
"Thanks," he said. "Also have you seen my -"
"They're right there under the bed Chance," I said pointing to his shoes.
"Thanks, what would I do without you?" He asked as he kissed my cheek. "Be back in like an hour," he said before he kissed my baby bump then walked out of the room.
He had to go meet his cousin or something like that, then we were all going to dinner. Today was the day that we were going to make the announcement about the baby we're having.
Chance was beyond excited but I was nervous as hell. I already know some of them think we're too young and that we're only babies ourselves but that's not the case.
I was now more than confident in my ability to be a mother and I have Chance to thank for that. He has been great over these past 3 months and am forcing me to eat what he calls healthy. And for that reason, he cooks every single night. When he's not home, on tour, he orders my food so that I won't have to cook. He's making me lazy even though he makes me walk two miles every single day early in the morning.
I'm sure I've lost fifteen pounds already fucking with his nappy headed ass.
After smoothing my hair into a puff, I finally was ready to go.
I then called Chance.
"Babe, where the fuck is Janice?" I whined.
Janice was the dog walker/sitter who kept Scout longer than she was supposed to. If Chance doesn't call her, I honestly believe she'd never bring Scout back. But she's known in Chi as the 'best dogwalker in town' which was surprising to me.
"She just texted me saying that she was running late, I'm on my way to come get you." he told me.
"Okay," I responded as I grew impatient.
I missed my babies.
Just as I was scrolling down my Twitter timeline, I heard the doorbell go off.
"Who is it?" I asked as I peeped through the little peephole causing Scout to bark at the sound of my voice.
"Janice, dog walker" she said as I opened the door.
"Hey baby" I said to Scout as I opened the door scooping him up into my arms.
"Um hi Nyeesha, I know you see me right here" she snapped her fingers as I closed the door in her face.
Just as I was turning around to walk away from the door, I heard the doorbell go off again.
I quickly opened the door causing a piece of paper to fall to my feet.
I picked it up and read it:
I KNOW YOUR ENEMY -FLOWER
Just as I was preparing to crumble up the piece of paper, I seen Chance pull up in the driveway. Scout started wagging his tail and moving uncontrollably causing me to put him down allowing him to run to Chance as he got out of the car.
"Wassup my nigga?" he asked him as he rubbed his head.
"You called the dog a nigga" I laughed.
