Nyeesha Brooks

After leaving Taylor's home, we were in the car in search for some ice cream.

I was craving some blueberry ice cream and banana peppers right now.

I was craving that infused water Chance made me earlier as well.

"I don't think we gon find any tonight," Chance sighed in frustration after we've been riding around for the past twenty minutes.

"Okay," I mumbled as I stared out of the window.

"I promise to getchu' some tomorrow, okay?" He asked. "Don't you dare cry either" he demanded as he rubbed my left thigh lightly.

"I'm good," I said as I wiped the tears that were about to fall.

I can't believe food makes me this damn emotional.

"Nyeesha. I love you, aight? And don't you ever forget that." He said out of the blue as he parked in the driveway.

"I won't," I said as I got out of the car.

As Chance was unlocking the front door, I heard Scout crying by the door.

"Is that Scout?" I asked as I looked at Chance who was just as confused before he opened the door.

"Hey baby" I cooed as I tried to pick him up but he just laid down refusing to get up.

He looked very different like he was sick or something.

I then seen Scout start vomiting on the carpet.

"Call the vet," I suggested. "She does after hour visits too right?" I asked as he nodded his head and called her.

"He probably threw up all over this damn house, it smell like shit" Chance said as he started looking around. "He got diarrhea Ny, and it's blood in it" he told me as he started getting out cleaning products.

Good thing Scout basically shitted on the rugs and not the actual floor.

"Don't even try to waste your time cleaning that, just throw it away. We can replace it." I told him as he started spraying air freshener uncontrollably in the air causing me to laugh.

I then went to the kitchen grabbing Scout's water bowl. I put it in front of him hoping he'd at least drink it but he didn't.

"What's wrong?" I asked Scout even though I knew he couldn't answer me as I rubbed his head.

I then heard a few knocks on the front door.

"It's Eva, the veterinarian." She announced as I opened the door for her.

"Hey guys, what's going on?" She asked.

"Scout was missing for a few days and he just showed up back in our home tonight and he's sick. He's been vomiting and he has diarrhea and he's weak." I explained to her.

"Is it okay if I take him in for a few lab tests?" She asked.

"Sure,"

"I'll have the results to you tomorrow." She said as she put Scout in this cage. "Take care," she said to us before leaving.

"Babe, it's no way I'm sleeping here tonight."

"I understand. Where you wanna go? Hotel?" He asked.

"Yes please, anywhere from here." I said before I went to pack an overnight bag.

As I was finished packing Chance's bag, he was smoking a cigarette in the backyard.
