After the video call with Nandini, Manik leaned back in his chair, a soft smile playing on his lips. He opened his photo gallery and scrolled through the pictures until he found one of Nandini from their 12th-grade farewell.

He had secretly captured it, wanting to keep a memory of that special night

He had secretly captured it, wanting to keep a memory of that special night. His heart swelled with love as he gazed at her picture, recalling how his feelings for her had gradually blossomed from friendship into love.

Flashback,

It was their school's farewell party, and the dress code was a saree for girls and a suit for boys. Manik had arrived early and was waiting at the entrance, nervously checking his watch.

He had been calling Nandini for the past 15 minutes, but she wasn't picking up. Growing anxious, he turned to face the school gate again, hoping to catch sight of her.

Just as he was about to try calling her once more, a girl in a blue saree stumbled near the entrance. Manik instinctively reached out and caught her, his arms steadying her before she could fall. It was Nandini.

For a moment, Manik was utterly mesmerized. Nandini looked breathtakingly beautiful, and he couldn't tear his eyes away from her. Her saree draped elegantly around her, and her hair fell in soft curls over her shoulders. She seemed to glow, and Manik found himself lost in her beauty.

Nandini, on the other hand, was confused by Manik's sudden silence. She looked up at him, noticing the way he was staring at her with a mix of awe and admiration.

"Manik?" she called softly, her voice bringing him back to reality.

When he didn't respond, she gently shook him. "Manik, are you okay?"

Manik blinked, snapping out of his trance. He quickly composed himself, a slight blush creeping up his cheeks. "Uh, yeah. I'm fine. Sorry, I just... you look amazing, Nandini."

Nandini smiled, her eyes sparkling. "Thanks, Manik. You look pretty handsome yourself."

Manik offered her his arm, and they walked into the party together. As they entered the decorated hall, Manik couldn't help but steal glances at Nandini.

He noticed how her laughter filled the room with warmth, how her eyes twinkled with excitement. It was at that moment that he realized his feelings for her had changed.

They spent the night dancing and laughing with their friends, but Manik's mind kept drifting back to Nandini. At one point, they sneaked out to the school garden to escape the crowd and enjoy a quiet moment together.

"Nandini, remember when we used to come here to plan our pranks?" Manik said, leaning against a tree.

Nandini laughed, nodding. "Of course! How could I forget? This garden has seen all our mischievous plans."

Manik smiled, a wave of nostalgia washing over him. "We've had some great times together, haven't we?"

Nandini's expression softened. "Yeah, we have. You've always been there for me, Manik. Through everything."
