"Do you wanna go on a date with me?"

(Jakes POV)

The words rang in my head. Did he really just...ask me on a date? After all these years there's still hope..yes! Finally! I can't believe it, maybe there is a chance we could be together aga- okay Jake, thinking too far ahead...This could totally be a prank and you could get tricked into something stupid again..It's like what happened with Ellie...but..she's changed. Maybe Tom has too..Although we had a rough past, maybe he actually wants to go out on a date with me?

Why am I such an overthinker, just say yes. Ugh, why is nothing coming out?! Why am I like this..Just spit it out, you look stupid! My heart was pumping out of my chest...I- I felt so flustered. I literally looked like a tomato..

(Toms POV)

My heart was pounding so loudly. I cannot believe I just said that. Probably because Gabby pinched me...I still meant it though!! I was blushing profusely because of how beautiful Jake looked in the lighting coming in through the over sized window. His black eyes had a tinge of shimmer and sparkles in them, I couldn't tell if it was the lighting, or genuine shock in his eyes.

Jake literally looked like a can of red paint after I said that. Oh god, Jake couldn't even get a word out of his mouth and he started stuttering. Ellie was giggling while Gabby was grinning at me, clearly proud of herself for getting me to finally express my emotions towards Jake. while he was probably overheating because of the question.

Jake: "I uh- uhhh- are you serious..?"

He literally turned red when I began to respond. I knew how nervous and unsure he was. I could tell that he was reluctant to trust me after..well last season of disventure camp... I saw it in his eyes, the uncertainty and memories flooding back to him. God..

Both the girls looked at us with a smirk. Honestly, they would probably burst out laughing, but they didn't for poor Jakes sake. They were looking at our awkwardness before I let out a yelp after Ellie kicked me under the table.

Tom: "Yeah. S-serious as shit."

(Jakes POV)

Omigod.. It's not a prank..Tom really did just ask me on a date!! Oh my!! Yes! It's gonna be just us, together, alone, nobody but us.

Tom: "So..Do you wanna go on a date with me?"

I finally answered after a few minutes of struggling to talk. Toms eyes lit up as I responded.

Jake: "S-sure, I have a short shift tomorrow.."

Toms face lit up with joy and his blush started to fade, yet it was still visible.

Tom: "That's great, ehm..."

We both awkwardly went silent before Gabby started rambling about another one of her stories and also how cute we were.

Tom: "Uh, Jake, how's tomorrow, 7pm at the park?"

I nodded at his question and agreed with it.
