Episode 1 Chapter 1: The Invitation

Electra sank into the plush comfort of her couch, the room bathed in the soft glow of her laptop screen. Her yellow hoodie and blue jeans seemed to blend with the warm light, creating a cozy cocoon amidst the digital world she was engrossed in. Her fingers danced over the keys as she played her favorite video game, but a sense of melancholy lingered in her heart, tainting the joy of the game.
*Hi, I'm Electra. I'm 15 years old, and I live in this awesome city with my awesome parents. They're really nice and caring, and they always have time for me after work. They're the best parents ever, and I love them very much.*She thought back to the happier moments she had shared with her family—playing games together, watching movies, cooking dinner, and leisurely strolls in the park. These memories were precious, but lately, a void had crept into her life. *But sometimes, I wish I had more than just my parents. I wish I had friends who could understand me and share my dreams. Friends who could make me laugh and have fun. Friends who could go on adventures with me and save the world.*A sigh escaped her lips, her ordinary life feeling heavier than usual. While her friends seemed to have something extraordinary about them, Electra felt unremarkable. She possessed no special powers, only a knack for computers and a love for video games and manga. Yet, a secret wish flickered within her.*You see, I'm not like other kids. I don't have any special powers. Maybe I'm talented, but I'm just an ordinary girl who likes computers and video games. But I have a secret wish that no one knows about. A secret wish that could change my life forever.*Her daydreams often wandered to a fantastical realm where she was a magic guardian—someone with extraordinary powers, clad in a cool outfit, wielding a unique weapon, and battling evil to protect the world. The thrill of the idea was palpable, but it remained just a dream.Suddenly, her laptop dinged with a new email notification. Curious, she clicked it open, and her eyes widened as she read the message.*And today, my wish might come true. Because today, I received this email from the Academy of Guardians and Defenders.*The email read:

You will also be able to participate in exciting missions and adventures that will test your skills and courage. To accept our invitation, please reply to this email with the word "yes" within 24 hours. We hope to hear from you soon.**

She pinched herself hard, feeling a sharp sting."Ouch! Okay, so I'm not dreaming," she muttered to herself, re-reading the email with a mix of disbelief and excitement. How did they know about her secret wish? And who exactly was this Lord Orthon?The sudden chime of the doorbell pulled her out of her daze. She quickly closed her laptop and hurried to the door. Her parents stood on the threshold, their faces lit with warm smiles."Hi, honey! We're home!" her mother exclaimed."Hi, mom! Hi, dad!" Electra replied, trying to mask her excitement and confusion.Her father noticed her distracted look. "How was your day?""It was... interesting," Electra said, hesitating."Really? How so?" her mother inquired gently."Well... you see... I got this email..." Electra began, struggling to find the right words."An email? From who?" her father asked, intrigued."From... from... The Academy of Guardians and Defenders," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.Her parents exchanged puzzled glances. "Let me see that email," her mother said, stepping closer.Electra handed them the laptop, and they read the message, their eyes widening with amazement."Wow... this is incredible," her mother finally said, her voice tinged with wonder."I know, right?" Electra replied, her voice filled with a mix of disbelief and excitement."And what did you say?" her father asked."I... I haven't said anything yet," Electra confessed."Why not?" her mother inquired, concern evident in her voice."Because I don't know what to do. This is a big decision. This could change my life forever," Electra explained, her voice wavering.Her parents looked at her with understanding eyes. "Well, honey, we're here to support you no matter what. This is your choice, and we'll respect it," her father assured her."Really?" Electra asked, feeling a swell of emotion."Of course. We love you, and we want you to be happy," her mother added, pulling her into a hug."Thank you, mom. Thank you, dad," Electra said, feeling tears prick at the corners of her eyes.Her parents smiled. "So, what do you think? Do you want to go to this academy?" her father asked.Electra took a deep breath. "I... I think I do.""Then go for it. We're proud of you," her mother said, her voice full of encouragement."Thank you. Thank you so much," Electra said, hugging them tightly.As she stood at the doorstep, her backpack slung over her shoulder and her parents beside her, Electra felt a complex mix of excitement and sadness. She looked at her parents, who were smiling with love and support, blissfully unaware of the true nature of the academy."I'm going to miss you both so much," she said, her voice trembling with emotion."We'll miss you too, sweetheart. But we know you're off to do great things," her mother replied tearfully."Just remember all we've taught you. Stay true to yourself," her father added, his voice filled with pride.Electra nodded, her heart swelling with gratitude. "I will. And I'll study hard, I promise."She hugged them tightly once more, savoring the moment. Her mother whispered, "Take care of yourself, and don't be a stranger."Electra smiled, feeling the warmth of their love enveloping her. As she stepped away, ready to embark on this new adventure, she knew that her life was about to change in ways she couldn't yet imagine.
