Searching the dungeon was far more confusing than he had imagined. Despite traversing numerous paths and caves, there was no sign of a half-elf. Even after finding a corpse, he was gradually losing hope. Several hours had passed as he wandered through the depths of the dungeon.
The monsters on these levels weren't troublesome. A few small strikes were enough to eliminate them. These creatures were dangerous for novice adventurers, but for higher-level individuals, they were merely a joke.
In this level of the dungeon, monsters like kobolds were more common; a race of wild dog-like creatures that attacked in groups, making them more dangerous due to their numbers.
Artyom, who had just taken out a group of them with his Saber blade, carefully scanned his surroundings to ensure it was safe. However, he felt weak. Just as fatigue was setting in, the growling of his stomach distracted him.
He hadn't eaten for two days.
Thinking back, perhaps he should have accepted the strange girl's offer to take him to the tavern. But no, that gray-haired girl wanted to trick him. Even if he had agreed to have breakfast with her, he doubted the waitstaff would have been pleased after what happened.
Why was he even thinking about this now?! Could hunger really affect someone this much?!
Artyom took a deep breath.
There's always time to eat, but never time to endure hunger!
He needed to focus on his mission.
Artyom thought; there was no sign of Eina Tulle on this level. Even though he had found other traces, he mostly encountered other monsters, which was gradually discouraging him.
Nevertheless, Artyom continued his search.
Dead or alive, he had to bring that advisor back.

"Ha-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a---!!"At that moment, a loud scream echoed from the other side of the dungeon; it was the scream of a girl. He rushed towards the sound and saw a large group of kobolds surrounding someone. A woman with pointed ears and tattered clothes that resembled a uniform.
Eina, with eyes full of terror, looked at the hungry dogs surrounding her, her body trembling like a leaf. "P-p-please... please--"
Seeing this scene, Artyom attacked the kobolds without a moment's hesitation. Skillfully wielding his Saber blade, he took down the kobolds one by one. The screams and cries of the monsters filled the air, and soon, only silence remained.
The half-elf, still trembling with fear, looked at Artyom with eyes full of gratitude.
Artyom slowly approached her and extended his hand. "Are you okay?"
Eina nodded. "Yes, thank you. You saved me."
He smiled under his helmet. "We need to get out of here. It's not safe."
