Alexander knew it wasn't Victor who was searching for him—it was Marcus. The name brought a cold shiver down his spine. As he relayed this information to James, his younger brother's eyes widened in recognition.

"Marcus," James repeated, his voice tense. "He's been trying to find you for years."

Alexander nodded, his expression grave. "We can't let Eva find out about any of this. She mustn't know about the vampire world or that I am a vampire."

James agreed immediately. "I'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe and in the dark."

Meanwhile, Eva and Liam were determined to uncover the identity of the mysterious man who had approached Eva at the museum. Liam, resourceful as ever, used his connections to track down the man's whereabouts. Late that night, he called both Eva and Alexander with the news.

"Found him," Liam said confidently over the phone. "I'll send you the address."

The next day, Liam and Alexander agreed to visit the man's location together. As they set out in Liam's car, they soon realized they needed to refuel. Stopping at a nearby gas station, Liam began filling the tank while Alexander excused himself, saying he needed to use the restroom.

A short while later, they were back on the road. The conversation shifted to more personal topics as they drove through the sprawling landscape. Alexander showed genuine interest in Liam's profession as a craftsman, and they bonded over discussions about woodworking and metalworking. The camaraderie eased the tension of the mission.

Eventually, Liam broached the topic that had been nagging at him. "How is Victor related to you, and why is he so intent on tracking you down?" Liam asked, his tone curious but cautious.

Alexander hesitated for a moment, weighing his words carefully before spinning a convincing lie. "Victor is my older brother. We had a falling out years ago, and he's been looking for me ever since. It's a long and complicated story."

Liam seemed satisfied with this explanation, and they continued their journey. After driving for most of the day, they finally reached the man's house. The outer gate was already open, which immediately raised Liam's suspicions.

"Something's not right," Liam muttered, stopping the car. "Stay alert."

They entered the house cautiously, moving slowly and quietly to avoid any potential danger. The air inside was thick with an eerie silence, the kind that settles when something is terribly wrong. They searched every room, their footsteps echoing through the empty halls, but found no sign of the man.

Frustrated, Liam suggested they look for anything that might give them a clue about his whereabouts or intentions. They combed through drawers, rifled through papers, and checked behind every door, but hours passed with no success. The man's belongings were minimal, and there was nothing to indicate where he might have gone or why he was after Alexander.

Eventually, they conceded defeat and left the house, empty-handed and disheartened. Liam dropped Alexander off at his home before heading back to his own place.

Later that evening, the scene shifted to a hidden locker where James had the mysterious man securely trapped. The dim light cast long shadows on the walls, and the air was thick with tension.

"Good job, brother," Alexander said, a satisfied smile playing on his lips as he approached the locked cell.

James nodded, his face serious. "What are we going to do now?"

Alexander glanced at the man, who was unconscious but alive. "We need information. Marcus won't stop until he finds me, and we need to know what he's planning."

James looked determined. "I'll handle the questioning. We need to keep this under wraps, especially from Eva."

Alexander agreed. "We also need to find out how much he knows about her and why he approached her at the museum."

As they stood there, the gravity of the situation settled over them. The vampire world was closing in, and they had to protect Eva at all costs.

"We need to be careful," Alexander warned. "If Marcus is involved, things are about to get much more dangerous."

James nodded in agreement. "We'll do whatever it takes to keep her safe and keep our world hidden."
