"Coffee?"

Y/n glanced over and saw a cup of coffee being offered to her.

"No thanks," she smiled before focusing back on her work, currently making adjustments to a drawing on her iPad.

"Come on, your secretary said you haven't had breakfast yet."

She had no choice but to take the coffee from her ex.

Who else? He was clearly trying to win her back and wasn't being subtle about it.

"Thanks," she said, setting aside her work and taking a sip of the coffee Ran brought.

"You like it?" he asked.

Y/n nodded after tasting it. "Yeah, it's my usual... coffee," she paused, realizing he got her the same coffee she always orders.

"Hey, don't look at me like that. I didn't ask your secretary. I just knew."

Of course, he knew.

"I doubt that," she replied bitterly.

"I got you the same coffee every finals week back then, remember?"

Thinking about their college days, he did always get her the same coffee when she stayed up all night studying for finals.

She hadn't noticed she was getting the same coffee as before until now. Most importantly, it was the same coffee Ran had recommended back then.

"Oh yeah, I can't stay here longer," she immediately changed the topic, rushing to leave again like yesterday.

"Already? Why?"

"I still have work to do in my office. Some adjustments were made, and I already asked your CFO about it."

"Wait," he said, stopping Y/n from walking away, "I was told that your dad wants to meet us after we're done here."

Y/n frowned, "He didn't say anything to me."

"Did he tell you about his withdrawal? No, right? So let's go."

Ran decided to walk ahead of her, making her think for a minute before deciding to follow him, wanting to ask more questions.

This meeting was sudden, and she still had work to do!

"Why now? I mean, is it really urgent?"

"Yup, he said it'll be private, so I wouldn't bring my secretary or Rindou."

"Private? So, I can't bring Hina?"

"I guess?"

Again with this private thing. The last time she heard it was private, he said it was because he wanted to tell her he missed her.

"Hi, Hina. I need to go meet my dad. He said it's a private matter and wants me to go with Ran. Are you okay going back to the office alone?" She made sure Hina wouldn't be left behind, knowing she wasn't close with anyone in Ran's company.

"I'm good, boss, don't worry about me," Hina smiled, signaling she was fine.

This reassured Y/n that she could leave Hina alone.

"Hop in."

She was surprised to see Ran pulling over, already inside the car.

"I am not riding with you," she said. She didn't plan to share the same car as him. In fact, she had informed Hina about it since she would be using her own car.
