𝐚𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧 never showed up meaning the only seat available was next to inez. and the only person who wasnt there yet was the one and only cole palmer.

so thats why inez and cole was sat next to each other. inez mentally cursed aspen for not showing up when she literally could since jack wasnt there.

when she saw cole walk in alone she felt her heart pang a tiny bit not because she loved him but because she felt bad for him. he had just broken up with her girlfriend of a few years and immediately came out to his friends and inez.

she hoped that the reason the two broke up was a lie. i mean ofcourse it was. cole and inez hasnt spoke for ages and when they had the smallest conversation, he broke up with estella.

obviously, inez was relieved that she was gone and out of the picture but she couldn't help feeling sorry for him.

"i might have the burger you know." cole said turning around to face inez as he spoke. "why its literally a fancy restaurant and your getting a burger." inez replied even though she already knew he was going to have a burger. he always did what ever restaurant they went to it was always burger burger burger. "well you know me what can i say, and i know your eyeing up that mac n cheese though." he replied nudging her shoulder.

inez just rolled her eyes before turning away from him leaving him facing the back of her head. "what are you having phil?" she asked
"uh the burger." he replied. once again inez rolled her eyes before turning back and talkin to cole.

"okay anyways." she replied trying to ease the awkwardness that had slowly crept back into their conversation. she really wished that it didnt have to be like this.

so awkward, so uncomfortable and so silly.
what was she doing trying to talk to him again? he needed to talk first. thats what her and aspen agreed on. fuck. so now she broke no contact, once again, and is talking first.

she pulled out her phone and began texting aspen.
