The one thing Yuna wasn't expecting to see when she went for new clothes was her (almost) long-forgotten dad.
-
"I-Ryu.." Immediately hearing the distress in her girlfriend's voice, Ryujin turned to look at the younger.
"What's wrong?" Ryujin questions worriedly.
"That's..that's my dad" She whispered back. Ryujin suddenly whipped her head around, searching the store for the vile man.
Yuna had told her all about how he was when her mom and him were together, and she couldn't believe the fact almost nothing was done to him.
"Just-keep shopping, Yu. I can't believe he has a job here." Ryujin told her girlfriend. They were at one of the nicer stores in town so Yuna could spend the 50 dollars she earned from the bet she'd won the day before. Yuna turned back to the clothing rack, trying to hide her nervousness, but Ryujin knew. She gently placed her on the small of the younger's back. Yuna somewhat relaxed into her touch.
(The header is the clothes they're buying btw)
"This one would look good on you." Ryujin said in an attempt to take her mind off the man at the checkout counter. She pointed to a pretty brown sweater with a bow tied to the side, and off the shoulder sleeves. Yuna smiled, grabbing it in her size.
"Its beautiful." She told Ryujin.
"I wanna get something for you too." She then said. Ryujin tried to decline the offer from her girlfriend, but failed. Yuna searched the shelves and hangers until she found something she thought would fit her perfectly.
"Here, look at this." She held up a cropped black shirt with what looked like belts for straps, and one around the waist. Ryujin smiled, kissing her on the lips.
"That's perfect." Yuna nodded, flustered.
"I'm ready to check out..but-" Ryujin nodded, not wanting her girlfriend to have to explain the situation once more.
"Here-lemme see the clothes, and the cash, I'll go up there." Yuna nodded.
"But he knows who you are." She told the older.
"And I'm not afraid to stand up to him for you, darling. You go out to the car okay. If he tries to say anything to you ignore it. Understand?" Yuna smiled at the way her girlfriend protected her so intensely.
"Yeah, okay." Ryujin took the cash and the clothing from her girlfriend and went up to the counter with her father at it. She set the clothing down, and at first he didn't recognize her.
"Will that be all today-" He started to ask before looking up from the counter to see Ryujin's cold expression staring back at him.
"That's all." She spat out, coldly. The man only glared back.
"That's not a very kind way to speak to someone older than you, you know?" He told her, seemingly recognizing her.
"You have no place to be talking about respect." She told him. He scoffed, bagging up the items.
"Well, according to the court of law, I'm innocent, and can't be tried again for the same crime." He handed her the bag.
"Have a nice day, Ryujin." She snatched the bag from his hand, many thoughts running through her head, but the most important one repeating itself.
He can most definitely be tried again for one of the other crimes he's committed.
