AURORA WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF GETTING READY for her duet with one of her friends, dylan. it was a contemporary dance to the song me and the devil, the two girls were excited to finally be able to do a duet together as they hadn't done one in ages. dylan wore a red two piece, and aurora wore the same but in grey. it was a halter neck, sleeveless crop top and spandex, short shorts. they had their hair in a slicked ponytail and they had to have heavy makeup on.
"rory, someone's outside to see you quickly before you go on." michelle told her with a big smile, "who?" aurora asked, confused on why her mum looked so happy. "go see" michelle said, aurora put down her makeup brush and walked over to the door. she opened it to see malachi standing there. "hii! what're you doing here?" aurora asked giving him a hug. "i just wanted to say good luck before you went on" he answered, "aww thank you chi!" she said with a big smile in her face.
"okay i'm gonna go sit down. i'll be front row again with both of our families, my parents said good luck too" malachi said, "aw tell them i said thank you so much. you guys really don't have to watch me, honestly go enjoy your time at the pool or something!" aurora replied. "i know, but we all want to see you" malachi smiled. "good luck!" he added guving her a hug before running off to his seats. aurora and dylan made their way backstage where they quickly ran over their dance.
"next up is entry number 981, dylan and aurora with me and the devil" a judge announced and the two girls made their way on stage where they got into their positions. the dance started with dylan dragging aurora on the floor so aurora had to begin by laying down. the music began and dylan started dancing, then it was time for her to drag aurora. but, it didn't go to plan, as dylan dragged aurora something sharp dug into auroras back, each time she was dragged it would scrape down her back.
the two girls continued their dance, aurora ignoring the pain in her back and dylan noticing the blood running down auroras back from the cut. "omg her back" cassie said grabbing everyone's attention, "oh god" danny mumbled, "is she okay?" malachi asked, clearly worried. "i'm sure she's okay hon, she's still up there dancing! if it was bad she knows to just come off stage" michelle reassured him. "if that was me i'd be off that stage the minute i felt a bit of pain" loren joked, "me too" danny laughed.
once they were done they quickly got off stage. "rory are you okay? you back is like so bloody omg it looks so sore. i'm so sorry" dylan apologised, "no, no, it's fine! it's not your fault! i mean it might make the dance seem.. better?" aurora laughed as one of the workers came over asking if she was okay and then they brought her to the medics room to get her cut clean and then they put bandaids on it. "are you okay?" michelle asked rushing in, holding mila with danny following along behind. "yes! i'm fine!" aurora laughed holding mila in her arms since mila wanted aurora instead of michelle. "it looked like it was meant to be apart of your dance" danny said.
"i need to get ready for the group dance, can you tell everyone thank you for watching me please? and tell them that they really don't have to stay and watch me if they don't want too!" aurora asked her mum who nodded, "you might want to let malachi know your okay. he seemed worried" danny told her, "okay thank you" she smiled walking to the other room to get ready while they went back to their seats to watch kamri's trio.
aurora didn't take long to get ready as her makeup was already done, she just changed into her costume with was a black leotard with areas cut out. she fixed her slick back ponytail, putting it into a bun and slicking down any flyaways. while she waited for the other girls to get ready she decided to text malachi, she knew kamris dance was over so he was probably just bored sitting there.
