Addilyn Maddox is your standard, atypical young adult, college student. She doesn't have parents, she's a foster kid, she's pretty used to being alone, in fact, she prefers it that way. Maybe that is why she finds herself sitting in a run down library just off her collage campus, staring at the case file of the infamous; Silas Galveston.

Where to begin; Silas, brother to Jeremy Galveston, better known as JJ, the brother that was pronounced dead. JJ and Silas went to the same college as Addilyn, but the three of them didn't fall in the same social circle. Silas and JJ are your rebellious type, while Addilyn prefers studying in her dorm over attending a big party.

JJ went missing in June of 1998 just four months ago, no trace was left behind.

His 1990's Toyota Century was found two days after his initial disappearance, no body was discovered. At first, it was labeled a suicide, until a fellow friend of the boys told local police that JJ and his brother got into a fight just days before his disappearance. After that, Silas was heavily looked into. There was even a detailed day to day schedule and route of his entire life for a week. Silas' everyday was heavily watched by undercover police. There was one problem though; the day Silas was arrested, there was never any real reason.

Police gave simple, half ass excuses as to the reason Silas murdered is own brother, but Addilyn didn't buy any of them. She knew Silas had to be innocent, she just had to prove it. That's why she was here, spending her Saturday night in the shabby, run down library. She was writing the hardest argumentative paper she's ever written.

Addilyn groans as she leans back in the chair, her whole body was on fire from being hunched over a computer all day, and her mind, finally let her know it. She rubs her back.

"Addi," the familiar voice of Addilyn's best friend, dormmate, and ex-girlfriend chirped from behind her.

"Hey Abbie," Addilyn says, turning around in her chair. "Jax," a complete contrast to how she speaks to Abbie. Jax was Abbie's boyfriend, and subsequently it was also the friend that told police about Silas' and JJ's argument.

"Addilyn," Jax said, his tone was almost bitter. It was clear the two of them weren't fans of each other.

"What's up?" Addilyn asks, returning her attention back to Abbie.

"You've been here all day," Abbie says "and we were going to invite you to dinner with us"

"Dinner?" Addilyn looked at the clock at the bottom of her computer, 5:05pm. She hadn't eaten all day and just realizing she was starving. "Uh yeah, I could eat" she shrugs.

"Great! We were thinking the diner downtown. Stevie's" Abbie says.

"Sounds good to me" Addilyn says "anything sounds good right now" she admits.

"Perfect, you almost done?" Abbie asks.

"Uh yeah, I'll meet you guys outside, I just need to print off a few things" Addilyn says.

"Sounds good" Abbie says, turning to Jax "cmon, let's go" she says, grabbing his hand and guiding him out, looking like a wolf being dragged by a bunny.

Addilyn watched them go before looking back at the computer she had been working on. She printed off a few news paper articles as well as she police report before turning off the computer. She hurried over to the printer, grabbed her print outs, and put them in her black folder, the outside cover read: Silas in bold, silver letters. She sighs to herself before hurrying outside.

It was a warm, autumn day, fairly usual for Los Angeles. The leaves on the trees decided they were going to fall this year so all the trees were naked, Addilyn hated it.
