It had been two long days since Osha and Qimir returned to the island. Osha stared at the vast ocean. Its waves crashing. The white foam touched the dark rocks but never turned them. She hadn't slept much. He held her hand on the saber that first day but after that, they barely talked. He gave her space after coming back. Maybe he thought she was weak right now? Perhaps he wanted to let her know things would be alright? He wouldn't put pressure on her?
Osha felt ..different...Osha felt weirdly calm. At least while she was awake. She thought maybe it'd hit her that she killed Sol. The person she thought saved her. Whom she thought she had a genuine connection with. Filled with truth and honesty. He saw through her at the Jedi Academy. He knew her grief and feelings betrayed her. Yet, he never berated her. For so long, she questioned why. Why was he so patient? Turns out it was because he killed her mother. He couldn't tell her it was wrong because he had wrongly robbed her and Mae's world. He also knew they'd never allow her to become a Jedi. So it was all pity. She knew that now. And how sad it was. The truth. Because she loved him. She saw him solely as 'good'. He was a Jedi. He was kind. He was powerful. He was patient. But he killed her mother. And she killed him. Without a weapon. She'd only wield power when she was filled with darkness, anger, and grief. She'd never done that before.
Osha stood up from a rock and turned around only to see Qimir looking back at her. He had his hands crossed and leaned against the entrance to the cave. Had he been there the whole time? He tilted his head and motioned for her to go to him. It must be a meal. She hadn't eaten earlier. She walked up and looked down at the ground until she reached the cave.
"You should eat, Osha. It's important to eat."
"I know. I will."
He passes her a bowl of the same food he offered the first day she was here. She picks up the spoon and eats quietly. He does the same. They're quiet for a while until she looks up and he's looking at her.
"How have you slept?"
"Fine."
"Are you sure about that?"
She looks at him questioningly, "Why? Have I done something in my sleep?"
"Part of the training is trusting one another."
"It's just nightmares. I have them all the time."
"What are they about?"
"A lot of things I'm sure you don't want to hear about."
"I'm asking because I want to know. But, I won't push you Osha. You will tell me willingly."
She looks away and sighs knowing he's probably seen her crying in her sleep.
"My mother. I dream about my mother."
He looks at her with intense eyes waiting for her to continue talking.
"The last conversation I had with her I told her I wanted to become a Jedi. I had already met Sol, Indara, Torbin, and Kelnacca. I had already done the test. Although she was the mother of the coven she kissed and hugged me. She said my wishes would be considered. I could feel it. She was going to let me go with them. Even if it meant never seeing each other again. Even if it meant upsetting the coven. She was going to let me go because she loved me. I never felt such emotions ever again. Not until Mae two days ago. I had forgotten what it felt to be reciprocated. When I sleep, all I can see is all the coven dead on the floor while the fort breaks down in fire. To know all of them died including my mothers who created, carried, and loved me haunts me. It all happened because I wanted to fly around the galaxy. I was selfish and didn't care about how this would affect them or Mae. If I'd known all the consequences I would've never...I would've never...''
