He let go and took out his phone, calling his friends. I could hear him laughing as he spoke to them, his voice filling the house. I grabbed my hoodie and bit my lip. Deciding not to waste any more time, I headed to the living room, but as he turned back to walk towards me, we bumped into each other.
"Sorry," he said, steadying me with his hands resting on my waist.
"It's fine," I muttered, trying to move, but he didn't remove his hands.
"Yeah, let's go" he said, and we walked there together, his hand sliding slowly off my waist.
As we walked into the living room, I noticed the TV was paused. I had been binge-watching a show called 'The Boys' yesterday and had forgotten to return.
He unpaused the TV and exclaimed, "There's no fucking way, you watch 'The Boys'?"
I blushed and nodded. "Yeah, I do."
"You're actually cool," he said, smiling. "It sucks that you don't go out more."
I blushed deeper and went to sit in my usual spot where my blanket and pillow were. He sat on the single couch to my right, and we continued staring at the screen for three minutes.
"You're a season behind me," he said, glancing at the screen. "You'll enjoy this season though."
"I can't wait," I replied, wrapping myself in the blanket. He chuckled.
"What's so funny?" I asked, looking at him.
"It's cute that you have your own little station when watching TV and how cozy you look," he said with a warm smile. I nodded, now feeling a bit self-conscious. We both looked at the TV and watched for about ten minutes. Suddenly, his phone rang. He looked down at it and frowned.
"Are you okay?" I asked. He nodded. "Yeah, it's fine."
His phone rang again, and this time he answered it and moved the phone away from his ear.
"My friends are here," he said, standing up. We both walked to the door, I stared at him slightly, wondering why he seemed different.
Opening the door, I saw a short girl with pretty locs and a guy with a beanie and glasses standing outside. The girl introduced herself as Olive, and the guy was Marcus.
"Hi, nice to meet you," I said, locking the door behind them.
"I like your place," Olive said, immediately hugging me and dragging me into the living room.
"Really, Olive?" the boys semi-laughed and shouted at her.
"Girls first, assholes," she laughed, leading the way.
I couldn't help but smile, liking them instantly. Olive's energy was infectious, and Marcus seemed friendly. As we all settled into the living room, I felt a bit more calm.
Olive sat down on the double couch to my left, and Marcus took a seat next to her.
"So, what are we watching?" Olive asked, looking at the TV.
"'The Boys'" he said with a smirk, sitting back down on the single couch.
"No way! I fucking love this show," Olive exclaimed.
"She's a season behind, so we're catching up with her" he explained.
"This is gonna be cool," Marcus said, adjusting his beanie and adjusting his glasses.
I wrapped myself in my blanket again, feeling a bit more comfortable. Olive suddenly turned to me from her side with a mischievous smile.
"I want to see your room," she said.
The boys froze and stared at her. "No, this is just a conversation between the girls," she added quickly, glancing at them.
"That's unfair, why can't we come?" Marcus whined.
I laughed at the three people.
"Yeah, I'm with Olive here."
He turned, smirked at me and asked,"What are you hiding?""Nothing" I replied, feeling a bit flustered. Olive intervened and laughed.
"You boys watch the show. Come on," she said, grabbing my hand and leading me out of the living room.
As we walked down the hallway, Olive giggled. "Quickly, tell me where your room is before the boys follow us" she said, smirking. I led her to my room, and we closed the door behind us. We talked for a while, getting to know each other better. Olive was easy to talk to, and I found myself relaxing more.
After some time, Olive pulled out a joint. "Do you want to smoke?" she asked, holding it up. I hesitated for a moment but then nodded. "Sure, why not."
We got halfway through the joint when the boys started knocking on the door. Olive got up and opened it, revealing Marcus and him standing there.
"Are you guys lit?" Marcus asked, a look of shock on his face. Both of us laughed at his question. "Maybe a little," Olive admitted, Marcus groaned and took the joint but tickled her too. Olive squealed as Marcus held her.
He specifically looked at me lying on the bed, walked over to me and sat down.
"You got lit without us?" he asked, looking at me with a smirk.
I laughed and said "Yeah." He chuckled and shook his head.
"Guess we'll have to catch up."
He pulled out another joint and sparked it up. I watched him as he did this, thinking it was the most attractive thing ever. I watched how he tilted his head back to pull and how he lowered it to exhale. His jaw tightened slightly and relaxed, my legs shook slightly and he opened his eyes. He turned to look at me and asked, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah" I replied, blushing.
We both looked to the side and saw that Marcus was kissing Olive's neck slightly as he held the joint between his fingers.
"We're still here you two" he laughed, they both looked at us and laughed as we opened the window by my bed. After a few hours.
Olive was lying with her back against Marcus. I was lying against one of my continental pillows and he was lying against the other. He was so close and our arms were touching, I shivered every time his skin brushed against mine. After a while, everyone realized it was getting late. We all stood up, ready to say our goodbyes. We hugged one another, and I gave quick hugs to everyone. He pulled me back after I hugged him.
"I want a proper hug because you need to learn how to give hugs" he said with a playful grin.
I tried to put my arms around his waist, but he placed my arms around his neck instead and pulled me in for a hug. I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him back. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me in tighter, making my eyes shut and my breathing heavy.
"See? You give good hugs" he mumbled. My legs shook, I had to straighten my feet and he rubbed my back slightly.
"Thank you"I breathed out, he pulled me closer and I heard his voice right next to my ear.
"You're welcome"
