As the gunshot resounded, Jezebel, Lena's stepsister had realized that it was not hers but in fact Lena's gun which had shot out.

Jezebel reached up to touch her face. The bullet had simply grazed her cheek. Sweat dripped down the side of her forehead.

"Take this as a warning Jezebel!" said Lena.

"YOU BITCH!" Jezebel screamed.

Everyone froze. When had Lena even taken her gun out? They had not even seen Lena move at all. Of course they knew she was the next head and genius of the assassins guild. She had many skills and tricks up her sleeve.

The traitorous faction of elders and men stiffened. "Lena we are only doing this for the benefit of the family," they said as they tried to cajole her.

"You mean the benefit of yourselves!" spat Lena. "Is that why you framed me for killing my father and conspired to poison me in my sleep. Not only that you dared to steal my DNA and make illegal clones of me just so you could control me. It's too bad though.... I destroyed the laboratory."

The Elders:  " !!!!!!!"

Soon Lena brought her hand close and pressed a small button that she had saved especially for the occassion.

"Why bother talking to her. This bitch is going to die anways!" Jezebel yelled angrily at the men,  then turned and looked at Lena, her facial expressions were filled with hatred and envy. "Any last words?"

Lena smirked again with her sexy red lips so seductive and elegant and her lovely laugh resounded.

"You fools really thought I was the one being herded and chased but I am sorry to say you were all so foolish. I don't care if you die or I die but today we will find out."

Everyone sensed something wrong as Lena took a step back.

Chaos broke out.

RUN! NOW!!

With the timer beeping, Lena free-fell  off the cliff and pressed the button in her hands. The entire mountain cliff area where everyone stood blew up. The earth had ruptured rising up as the blast swallowed up everyone. Screams and shouts of pain could be heard. A dazzling swarm of flames went up into the air. The smell of smoke and death lingered in the air. Lena smiled in satisfaction.

A large gust of wind from the blast propelled Lena forward as she fell further down towards the river.  At least if she died she would have no regrets, except for the fact that the guild would now be in disarray and she would not be there to say her last goodbyes to her late father at his funeral; and to the others who had not betrayed her, she would miss them all.

Even in death Lena would never let those traitors succeed.

'No one could have survived that blast, ' thought Lena. She knew this best as she had planted the bombs there in the short time she had been waiting for them to arrive.

The last thing she saw as Lena looked up as she fell was the bright and full moon shining down on her tight fit short black leather clad clothes with long knee high boots. Her long hair trailed behind her. Lena closed her eyes and accepted her fate,  plunging into the flooded river below.

Lena gasped as the icy river enveloped her, the sudden cold shocking her system. Her eyes snapped open in alarm, catching glimpses of moonlight streaking through the murky water. Under different circumstances, she might have found it beautiful—but the dark tendrils wrapping around her, pulling her deeper toward the riverbed, quickly shattered that thought. The current was dangerous and brutal, churning up mud and debris that obscured her vision.

She fought desperately to swim upward, her lungs burning with the need for air. With one last, desperate surge of strength, she broke through the surface and gulped a quick breath. But before she could fully inhale, the current seized her again, dragging her back down into the depths.

Her oxygen running low, panic gripped her. She knew she had to reach the surface again, but something snake-like coiled around her ankle, tightening its grip and pulling her deeper toward the bottom of the murky riverbed.

Should I just give up? she thought, her exhaustion overwhelming her. She was already weakened, her body battered by minor injuries and further sapped by the poison from the incense that lingered in her system.

"Ow!" she yelped, the pain jolting her out of her thoughts. She glanced down in horror—a jagged stone jutting from the riverbed had sliced through her skin . She watched, terrified, as a dark trail of her blood spiraled through the water toward a stone. The stone absorbed her blood then suddenly began to glow with a sinister light.

Chills erupted across her body as she sensed the impending danger. She tried to swim away, her heart pounding with renewed panic, but it was too late. Her limbs wouldn't obey her—some unseen, supernatural force had locked her in place.

"What in the hell is this?"

" !!! "

She gasped at what she saw, her voice muffled by the water. Panic rose within her as her strength waned, her breath slipping away. She was too weak to fight back, the fear choking her as darkness began to close in.

Was this really the end for her?
