The Ogres

Waking up I'm just surprised I'm not hungover from yesterday, next time I stop before she talks me into three more. If I get the chance, I hope they stay, the girls are so sweet and the red haired ogre is pretty cute. I'm also curious about the blue haired ogre thats always in the shadows I wonder what he's like? These thoughts linger as I get ready and head off to work. I pass by Rimuru's hut on my way, the ogres were inside with him talking. Maybe they made a decision? I guess I'll find out soon. I try to focus on work but I can only think of more questions.

"Lady Nymph please help!" I hear shout and see the ogres running towards me? They look...different. Not bad but definitely different.

"What happened? Also you guys look way different did something happen to you?" My questions go unanswered as the purple...ogre? Whatever she is now scoops me up and runs me to Rimuru's home where I find him totally out cold.

"He named all of us I think it may have killed him!" She cries out in dismay and the pink one comforts her. Oh I get it he's asleep, he spent a ton of magicules naming them.

"Oh don't worry he's just sleeping, he'll wake in a couple days, naming you guys took it out of him." They look relieved.

"Did he name you Lady Nymph?" The pink one asks and I smile at her.

"No but I do have a name, he's just not the one who gave it to me. My name is Rikie, whats yours?" She nods in understanding.

"I'm shuna." The others introduce themselves after her, Benimaru and Souei huh? They're both still pretty cute. I need to stop getting distracted.

"So what did you guys evolve into?" They explain they're Kijin now and all the cool magic they got through evolving. They also explain how they'll be staying with us now, I'm glad. After that we leave and I let them know they can try out pretty much any job but to make themselves useful until Rimuru wakes up. They each leave to find jobs and Kurobe follows me to join the dwarves. The rest of the day goes by pretty fast and the next time I look up, its mealtime.

I sit with my followers after grabbing food and they all smile at me. Oh no what are they up to? They have that mischievous look in there eyes.

"Lady Rikie we have good news for you." I just shake my head.

"How many times have I told you? Its just Rikie, there is no need to be so formal." John nods but I've been telling him this since the first day we met, he just doesn't stop. Maybe it has something to do with the worshiping thing but everyone worshiping me like a god feels strange. Its like I can't get close to anyone, and I haven't even done anything worthy of worship! Not that I'm aware of at least. I feel like no one opens up to me and I can't open up to anyone. They think so highly of me if I mess up once everyone panics which can't happen in battle or they'll end up dead. How can I make them realize that I'm not perfect either? That they can open up to me and I won't fault them for any mistakes they've made? My mind wanders trying to think of how to approach this when I realize that he's been talking to me.

"What do you think?" Oh shit I didn't hear him at all! What do I say?

"Um sounds great?" They irrupt into cheers. What did I just agree to?

"Perfect we will inform your future husbands at once." Wait what?! Say again?!

"Wait wait future husbands?! Plural?!"

"Yes My Lady I told you we found two suitors powerful and trustworthy enough to be your husbands. You agreed so we shall go inform the suitors they have been chosen." Nope not in a million years NOT HAPPENING. I'm not marrying two different guys that I haven't even met!

"I said sounds great like I'll think about it after I've met them not like I would marry them immediately! And why two?!"

"My lady its very common for Great Mymphs to have a harem you know this. We can start with two and find more later." HAREM?! I DID NOT KNOW THIS!

"Don't you think two is plenty?" I think he can hear the unease in my voice but he doesn't seem to care.

"To have less then three would be shameful My Lady you know this." No I don't!

"Fine but only three and I get to choose."

"Out of the options we pick, you can choose." Thats not what I said at all.

"John if-"

"We have brought the worthy ones." Oh shit this is NOT HAPPENING. I turn to inform them as much but I'm met with Souei and Benimaru so I just freeze in place. Actually that kind of makes sense, being Kijin and all they would be considered "worthy" now. Hang on I met these guys yesterday this is crazy even if they are insanely hot! Luckily they still look confused.

"Hey guys ignore them please. They keep trying to set me up and I keep telling them I don't need any help finding someone." I turn to John "When I'm ready." He looks sheepish at least and suddenly I want to crawl in a hole. They probably think I'm crazy or my followers are crazy. To be fair my followers are a little crazy sometimes, maybe because they have no shame, they really should sometimes.

"Oh I see, my parents did that to me all the time, no harm done." Benimaru laughs and I'm instantly pulled out of my thoughts and thanking whatever gods exist in this world. Souei chuckles with him and I join them.

"Would you like to sit? The others are welcome as well." I motion to the empty seats near me and they nod. They go back for there food and the other four, we all enjoy a meal together laughing and a couple of us drinking. I didn't tonight, I limit myself to twice a week. Shion complained but she was already drunk and I just laughed.

The boys get pretty rowdy and Shion joins in while Shuna and the girls laugh. I notice Souei sneak away from the excitement and head into the forest, after a moment I decide to follow him. If he wants to be alone I'll leave but I have to admit I'm curious where he went.

It doesn't take long to find him, if I wasn't intune with nature it would have been impossible. He's definitely good at disappearing, I guess thats his job, the quiet assassin. I wonder what he's like when he actually speaks?

"Lady Rikie is there something I can do for you?" Of course he noticed me, another part of his job.

"There's no need to be so formal, just Rikie is fine. I'm curious what's on your mind, that's why I followed you." Better to be blunt, he would know if I lied. To his credit he looks very surprised.

"I'm fine, and if you insist...Rikie." That brings a smile to my face thats quite hard to hide. No one has ever listened to me when I requested them to treat me normally, but he listened. He really heard me. I lean against a tree starring up at the stars through the leaves.

"Thank you Souei. Is there anything I can do to ease your mind?" He shakes his head.

"My fallen comrades haunt me, unfortunately there is nothing to be done. I will avenge them." I nod, I understand that feeling. Not of loosing a loved one to death, but I have lost loved ones, and they still haunt me.

"I understand." I could swear I saw him smile for a second.

"I believe you." We sit in silence admiring the stars until the noise from camp dies down.

"We should probably get back...goodnight Souei." I stand up, regrettably I have to get sleep. I could watch the stars with him all night if I didn't have more work tomorrow. He smiles at me and this time it doesn't disappear in a moment. But when he smiles it felt like time slowed around us and for a moment it was just us two.

"Goodnight Rikie." I return his smile and we go our separate ways, he's definitely not as much of a loner as I previously thought. He haunts my mind until sleep comes, and when it does, he appears in my dreams.
