Mingyu

"Hello. Who's speaking?"

"Um, myself Kim Mingyu. I was wondering if I can talk with Jeon Wonwoo..."

"No, you can't," a straight answer, following with a brief sigh on the other side, I hold the phone by my ear, my hand feels numb, "You know that's what I really am tempted to say."

"So, I can talk to him?" a glint of hope flashes across my face.

"Do you have any idea how much I suffered in the last sixty hours because some asshole named Kim Mingyu didn't call on the number my asshole of a friend mistakenly thrusted upon?" his voice gets louder as he continued to puncture each word through gritting teeth. "I've been called each hour because of you. Do you know that?"

"I...I'm sorry?"

"Sorry won't cut. Imma send you a contact info, call that asshole right now because I'm losing my precious sleep over two idiots." Maybe listening to him say 'fuck off' would sound better.

With those straight cut words the call disconnected and I just dumbly stare at my phone, the black screen staring back at me. In a few seconds I receive a text from the dialed number who's supposed to be the Moon Junhui guy. I check the massage, it's Wonwoo's contact number. I quickly dial it up and with every passing dial tone my heartbeat increased tremendously.

"Hello?" There it is, the deep voice I know, there's a tired sigh following with it. Did I disturb him?

I gulp, "Hey, it's..."

"Mingyu! It's you, right?" Was he waiting for my call?

"Yeah," I sigh, looking up in the night sky, a feeling of relief washing over me. "How did you know it's me?"

"Your voice gives it away, you know," there's a chuckle at the end with a breathy sigh. I wonder if he's looking at the sky right now, it's pretty with so many stars lighting it up while the moon is playing hide & seek under the clouds. "I'm sorry. I mistakenly give you that card and I thought taking your contact from Mr. Kim would be the last thing you'd want."

"It's...ok. I took a chance, you know," I rattle the can with my feet, somehow feeling so small despite having a huge body. "By the way, the Moon guy was pretty furious when I said it's me."

"He didn't say something bad out of frustration, did he?" I chuckle, imagining his worked up face, I'm pretty sure it's pretty cute like my imagination.

"No, he didn't. He just said someone kept calling him every hour just to know if I've popped up or not," I purposely stir him up, imagining his pale face coloring with the pretty shade of pink, I like it somehow.

"I..he... it's all in his head," he snaps, but his tiny voice and stuttering give him away in a second.

"I trust you," I don't miss a single beat as I try to muffle my laugh but I barely contain it when a pfft slip my lips.

"Go ahead and laugh at my face," he mumbles and I barely contain myself from cooing. It's definitely bad, Kim Mingyu.

"I'm not," I burst out laughing and in a few seconds he does too.

"Oh, I've something that I need to tell you." His voice sounds urgent unlike a few seconds ago when we're just casually talking. I hold my breath, hoping not something bad again, my feet grounded in the road so is the can. "I told Mr. Kim that we'll get married soon without discussing it beforehand with you."

I sigh in relief, "That explains why he didn't contact me last two days."

He hums, "So, what do you say?"

"About what?" I don't know why but I'm liking pulling his leg, I just do.

"Are you sure about this marriage?" I can feel him rolling his eyes, it's annoyingly cute in my mind.

"I already told you, didn't I?" I chuckle.

"People can change, so do their minds," I believe he's annoyed with me and it makes me want to play a bit more.

Stop playing with feelings, Kim Mingyu!

"I agreed to this marriage, Wonwoo and no matter what happens I won't break my word," I reassure, I don't know if I sound cheesy doing this over the phone but I mean every word I said.

A comfortable silence fall over us, we both don't dare to break the silence, but someone has to eventually and it happens when I hear a startling scream over the phone.

"Ahh...Somi! What the fuck! Where did you come from?"

"Hey, you oka....y?"

"What do you want me to do when I find my brother giggling, alone on the rooftop like a crazy person?" a playful tone dances from afar but I can hear it, not clearly but doable.

"Shut up and go back to your room," he grumbles.

"Oh, please. I was here because mom told me to inform you that we'll be going to shopping the day after tomorrow for your wedding and you're told to bring that handsome hunk of yours there," I guess she's got the perfect opportunity to tease his brother.

"Don't wink at me. That's creepy and go back, I'll inform Mingyu, but he'll only come if he isn't busy," Wonwoo sighs at the end.

"Oho~, protective, huh?" she definitely loves to tease Wonwoo.

"Hey, you there?" his voice sounds sweet despite being so heavy.

"Umhmm," I hum, a smile already decorating my lips.

"Sorry, it was my little sister. She can be a bit too much from time to time," he sighs.

"She sounds nice," I chuckle, remembering their sibling fight.

"Say that only after you meet her," he grumbles and it makes me chuckle. "By the way, are you free the day after tomorrow?"

"Why? Are you taking me out on a date?" I wiggle my brow even though he can't see me, I really might have gotten a screw loose. "If that's the case, I gotta check my schedule for..."

"I know that you heard everything, quite playing," he can be adorable, being grumpy like this.

"Okay, I surrender. So, when do I need to be..well... somewhere?"

He laughs, the hearty one, "Well, I'll let you know, but for your information, girls take a lot of time in shopping."

"I know," I echo, smiling to myself as I pick the can up, aiming it in the recycle bin. "What are you doing in the rooftop so late?"

"Nothing, just watching the sky while sitting by the pool," his voice sounds distant as if fantasizing something.

"A pool on the rooftop? Sounds nice," the can lands with a rattling sound.

"Hmm, it is," he hums. "It's filled with green plants, a cozy place in the corner for barbeque with a large wooden table, and the roof is decorated with many small fairy lights. You'll love it in here."

"How can you be this sure?" I tease.

"I just am," he shrugs, smiling afterwards. "What about you?"

I know it's a re-theoretical question but it still gives me warmth, knowing someone is there to be interested in my simple life as I start walking, "Going back to my apartment, gazing the night sky all the way home."

"Sounds nice," he hums, inhaling the chilli air. "The moon's pretty today."

And my feet freeze in the ground.
