In the name of Allah
The first mistake we can see is that people think that imam abu hanifa was maturidi meaning he belived that Allah exists with no place maturidis do not belive in the atributes of Allah they deny that Allah has hands, face, feet, eyes and that Allah is on his 'arsh they say that the meaning of ayah 5 in surah taha where it says that Allah is 'arshi istawa(above his arsh(throne)) is that it is meant as in power because indeed they are right about the throne being the greatest creation of Allah however they deny that Allah is on his throne which could be kufr akbar(great disbelief (from islam))

So how do we know that imam abu hanifa belived that Allah was above his throne is simple because abu hanifa agreed that Allah has a face and hands however there is no doubt that Allah is not like any of his creation so Allah does not have hands like us humans nor eyes like humans nor feet like humans we must not imagine Allah like this it is a major sin to belive that Allah is like his creation because his creation is created by him but did anyone create Allah ? NO !
Words of imam abu hanifa:
"The hand of Allah is above their hands. It is not like the hand of his creation and His face is not like the face of his creation(al fiqh ul absat page 56)

And to prove even more imma abu hanifa makes it clear that Allah has hands and that imam abu hanifa agrees with athari aqeedah go read al-fiqh al-akbar page 302-303 and kitab al wasiyyah where abu hanifa says that Allah is above the heaven however many maturidis and asharis claim that he meant this metaphorically and make their own explanation so if you want to read the clear fiqh al-akbar you should do so in arabic because today most of fiqh al akbar books are translated by a maturidi famous translater who makes his own explanations according to his opinion with no proof Allah does not even say in any Quran ayah that he exists with no place
Well what about the opinion of other three greatest imams of ahlul sunnah al-jama'ah

Imam malik said:Allah is above the sky and encompasses everything (al 'arsh 2/180)

Imam shafi said:Allah is above the throne and above the sky(Al juyush al-islamiyya
page 931)

Imam ahmed ibn hanbal said:Allah is over his throne(al-juyush al islamiyya page 1231)

Proving that Allah is on his throne first of first many ignorant sufis ask Allah created everything than how could Allah be limited by place and direction the truth is that where Allah was before he created throne and place I have no knowledge and sunan ibn majah 182 is daif hadeeth however Allah said
Surely your Lord is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days,1 then established Himself on the Throne, conducting every affair. None can intercede except by His permission. That is Allah-your Lord, so worship Him ˹alone˺. Will you not then be mindful?(quran 10:3)

so here Allah says that he estabileshed himself above the throne or on the throne the word 'istawa in arabic could mean above or on however the word 'ala in arabic clearly means on and after you will see some quran ayah in this book you are reading(in sha Allah) you will see the hadeeth I am explanaing how the prophet said on the throne with the word 'ala and all arab speakers know that the word 'ala can not be used as metaphore but it means acctually "on" This hadeeth explains us that Allah estabileshed himself above/on the throne this means that Allah was before not above/on the throne but after Allah created the throne from water he estabilished himself above it here are some more Quranic ayah which teach us the correct belief of where Allah is
Indeed, your Lord is Allāh, who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne. He covers the night with the day, [another night] chasing it rapidly; and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allāh, Lord of the worlds.(Quran 7:54) and Surah taha ayah 5:the Most Compassionate, ˹Who is˺ established on the Throne.

The words of the prophet are:Mishkat al-Masabih 3303
Mu'awiya b. al-Hakam told that he went to God's Messenger and said, "Messenger of God, I have a slave girl who was herding sheep of mine. I went to her, having missed a sheep from the flock, and asked her about it, and she told me it had been eaten by a wolf. I was annoyed with her, and being human, I struck her on the face. As it is my duty to set free a slave, should I set her free?" God's Messenger asked her where God was and she replied that he was in heaven. He asked her who he was and she replied that he was God's Messenger. He then told him to set her free.

From this hadeeth we learn that the correct answer is to question where is Allah we say Allah is above his throne

al-Masabih 2364
Abu Huraira reported God's messenger as saying, "When God completed the creation He wrote the following which is with Him above His Throne, 'My mercy has taken precedence over my anger'." A version says, "Has prevailed over my anger."

Sahih al-Bukhari 3194
Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "When Allah completed the creation, He wrote in His Book which is with Him on His Throne, "My Mercy overpowers My Anger."

Sahih al-Bukhari 7453
Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "When Allah created the creations, He wrote with Him on His Throne: 'My Mercy has preceded My Anger."

Sahih Muslim 2751 a
Abu Huraira reported that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said:

When Allah created the creation as He was upon the Throne, He put down in His Book: Verily, My mercy predominates My wrath.

All his hadeeths say fawqa 'arsh which could also mean above arsh and not on but in hadeeth :
Sahih al-Bukhari 7404
Narrated Abu Huraira:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "When Allah created the Creation, He wrote in His Book--and He wrote (that) about Himself, and it is placed with Him on the Throne--'Verily My Mercy overcomes My Anger.'" here it is written in arabic 'Ala 'arsh which means on 'arsh

Jami' at-Tirmidhi 3109
Narrated Waki' bin Hudus:
from his uncle Abu Razin who said: "I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Where was our Lord before He created His creation?' He said: 'He was (above) the clouds - no air was under him, no air was above him, and He created His Throne upon the water.'"

Ahmad [bin Mani'] said: "Yazid bin Harun said (regarding) the air - 'It means there was nothing with him."

And this that there was nothing with him is before he created his creation as the prophet said: no air WAS under him no air WAS above him, however as it is written in Quran in surah taha ayah 5:"the most mercifull ESTABILISHED himself above the throne" means that Allah was in past not above the throne, throne did not even exist before Allah created it,it must also be reminded that Allah is first and last.

So do you oh you who say that Allah exists without a place do you belive that when Allah said in surah taha that He estabilished himself above the throne meant as in power? So does that mean that in past Allah was not greater than throne? Because the verse says

Indeed, your Lord is Allāh, who created the heavens and earth in six days and then established Himself above the Throne.1 He covers the night with the day, [another night] chasing it rapidly; and [He created] the sun, the moon, and the stars, subjected by His command. Unquestionably, His is the creation and the command; blessed is Allāh, Lord of the worlds.

So here the verse says that Allah THEN estabilished himself above the throne
And we know that the throne was created before heavens and Earth because the hadeeth says:
Mishkat al-Masabih 79
'Abdallah b. 'Amr reported God's messenger as saying, "God recorded the fates of all creatures 50,000 years before creating the heavens and the earth, and His throne was upon the water."

Muslim transmitted it.

So here we know that Allah created the throne before heavens and Earth
So it is immposible for the verse to be meant as is in power because then you belive that Allah before creating the heavens and the Earth was not greater than the throne according to your understanding of the verses of Quran

There is no doubt that Allah is greater than the throne however the verses define that Allah really estabilished himself above his throne because in surah Yunus ayah 10 it clearly says "then" estabilished himself above the throne...

Beliving that Allah is on his arsh means then that you belive that Allah has a face and feet... as Allah described himself for deeper and better explanation of attributes of Allah and proves where it says that Allah has feet you can see in book al aqidah al wasitiyyah written by sheikh ul islam ibn taymiyyah rahimullah and explanied by sheikh al-fawzan rahimullah
