Sumihiko is a third-year high school student who is well-known for his cheerful character, good at many subjects (- PE), and has a beautiful face that is enough to make women feel jealous. He sometimes likes to make trouble with his best friend, Toujurou, but only small pranks, not endangering his friends.
But unfortunately our main character has a weakness and that is not being able to walk. How come he can't walk? Well...let's talk a bit about his past.
In the past, he was a very active student in sports, his room was full of trophies from competing in soccer, karate and swimming. But a terrible incident happened to him when he was about to go home after playing soccer with his friends, suddenly a car from the opposite direction appeared at a fairly high speed, Sumihiko who saw it could not avoid quickly, unfortunately he got hit quite strong from the car, he spent a week in the hospital and on his last day at the hospital, the doctor said that his legs were badly damaged and had to use a wheelchair. It was very difficult at first because Sumihiko was not used to it, but with the help of Kanata and his mother, he began to get used to it and was able to go by himself.
The first day he returned to school again, everyone looked at him with pitiful stares, he was actually quite annoyed with how they were all looking at him.
Since the car accident, He gets bored easily now, he can't run freely like he used to or do other activities he likes.
Kanata who saw his brother's behavior felt sorry for him, if maybe he was with Sumihiko when the car accident happened, he would still be able to play soccer with his friends.
Then one day, as he was returning home from school, his eyes accidentally turned to the side where there was a bookstore that had a European-style design. He entered the bookstore full of curiosity. Once he was inside, he looked around, the shop was small but the interior looked very large.
While he was looking around, he got startled by an old man who he thought was the owner of the shop. The old man then asked him if he wanted to buy a book, Kanata just nodded and the old man then smiled at him and got up from his chair, then he walked towards one of the bookshelves that was not far from the counter. Kanata then waited patiently for the old man to return with the book he was carrying, after 10 minutes the old man came back with a thick book in his hand, he walked towards Kanata and gave it to the boy who had been patiently waiting for him.
