When I ran away, almost two months ago.

I thought I was doing the right thing- turns out I wasn't.

The first few hundred times that Michael called me, I ignored, but then something sparked in me- love, perhaps, making me answer his phone call.

He told me that as soon as I'd left, Brent asked Michael to run him over with his car.

Michael lied and told him he couldn't drive, to which Brent still begged him to. He never did, so Brent took a gun and shot himself.

All because of me.

Now, looking back on that day, I see I could've forgiven him, and he would still be alive now, but that didn't happen and I'm here at his funeral (his and Goldy's, actually), sobbing my heart out.

Michael held me close, whispering comforting things in my ear, like how it wasn't my fault- though it was, and saying how it would getting better in time.

"Michael, do you really believe that?" I asked, leaving the church that held the funeral.

He followed after me, "Yes, Cinderella. With all my heart, I do."

I took his hand in mine and kissed it, "I'm thinking of running away, again."

"Are you crazy? Do you know how bad I was when you left me before?"

"Runaway with me?" I suggested, tugging at his arm. "Lets go now, while everyone's still in the service."

He nodded, hesitantly and we got in our separate cars, driving to our houses to grab our clothes and toiletries. Michael decided to come over to my house to meet with me to find where we'd drive to.

"I wish we could go to New York," I mumbled into his chest as we embraced.

"We could," He said.

"But it's too far," I whined. I wasn't ready to be in a car for over twelve hours, let alone, like three days.

"We'll do it, baby. Just believe."

I shrugged, what could go wrong?

After all, a wish is a dream your heart makes.
