Shu Yubai was momentarily stunned, then, without looking at Nan Xue, she lowered her head and hurriedly packed up the easel by the roadside. "I don't like it anymore."

She had a bunch of items in her hands: the easel, pencils, erasers, and under her arm was the sketch she had just completed.

In the twilight, her soft, long hair was gently lifted by the wind.

Her figure appeared somewhat desolate.

Shu Yubai turned back and saw Nan Xue still standing there watching her. She smiled, "Come help me. I can’t carry it all."

Her tone was very casual, as if she didn’t care much about the issue.

Nan Xue walked over and took the items.

She suddenly fell silent and, after a while, looked towards You Fu's direction.

You Fu was standing a bit farther away, her posture upright. She wore a gray short skirt with a light-colored collared wool coat over it. The cuffs were slightly rolled up, revealing her fair and delicate hands. With her slightly curled hair ends, bright eyes, and the corners of her lips curving up when she smiled, she exuded a mature and elegant aura in her every gesture.

When You Fu was with Shu Yubai, their atmospheres were very different.

They were very in sync.

"Do you like her that way?"

Nan Xue asked softly.

"Yes."

Shu Yubai lowered her head and smiled, "I’ve fallen for someone else. As for you, don’t overthink it." (TN: Ouch)

The sky gradually darkened, and the group walked down the mountain path. There was a shallow water channel by the side of the trail, and the sound of flowing water was quite pleasant. Looking down from the mountain, there were few pedestrians, and the white snow among the pine trees was gradually being swallowed by the darkness.

Nan Xue swallowed the words she almost blurted out: "Why don’t we give it a try?"

Indeed.

Earlier, she had sensed that Shu Yubai had some feelings for You Fu.

Now her guess had only been confirmed.

This person was more indifferent than she had thought.

Nan Xue felt a pang of discomfort in her heart.

In the evening, before Nan Xue went to sleep, she closed her eyes.

In a half-dream state, she recalled the pair of misty, pitiful eyes, as if someone had been bullying her.

Her heart skipped a beat.

The heartbeat was very evident.

Around ten at night, she picked up her phone and turned it on.

She saw Shu Yubai's WeChat.

She clicked on the profile picture. Shu Yubai's account had blocked only Nan Xue, but it was open to this secondary account she had added halfway through.

Nan Xue opened it.

There were many photos, all with You Fu.

There were pictures of them going out, holding a glass of juice;

And photos of their shadows.

It really looked like good things were coming.

She couldn’t quite describe her feelings.
