🪐~No one knows what lies beyond the magical barrier-some say monsters have cursed the land, while others whisper of benevolent creatures dwelling there~🪐

As we near the palace gates, my grandmother's guards encircle us. We all raise our hands in surrender as they aim their weapons at us.

''Who are you and what are you doing here?" one of the guard's shouts. I think they don't know who I am.

I walk in front of my friends and raise my chin, ''I'm princess Evangeline van Rensselaer from the Kingdom of Clouds, granddaughter of queen Dorothea.''

They look at me in confusion their weapons lowering a little.

''Why would the princess come here unannounced and without guards?" one of them shouts, ''You're pretending to be the princess, arrest her.''

''What?" I say as they grab my arms, ''No, I am the princess.''
''All of you say the same.'' he says and pushes me forward.

''Don't touch me'' Alora yells, ''Do you know who I am?''

I look around at my friends and my eyes widen in horror. Leon and Noah are at the ground, five guards holding them. Alora struggles to free herself from the hold of the merciless guards, Felicity and Isa fly high in the sky and the guards jump high to catch them.

I have to do something.

''Let me go if you value your life.'' I yell, '' I am princess Evangeline!'' I say and the guard laughs.
''Right, and I am the queen's husband.'' he laughs shaking his head.

''Let go of me!" Alora yells.

Oh God, what are we going to do now?

''You fools!'' a powerful voice shouts, and I smile looking up to my grandma who is standing at the castle's balcony. ''What are you doing to my granddaughter?"

The guards gasp, immediately releasing my arms. I stand straight on my feet and rub my poor arm. Alora and the others are freed to, and they stand close to me.

''We're sorry your majesty... we... we didn't know-'' the guard mumbles.
''Off with their heads!'' she shouts, and my eyes widen, ''And bring my granddaughter up.'' she adds leaving the balcony.

''Suits you well.'' Alora says to one of the guards as the door opens and we head inside.
''That was a little bit harsh.'' I say, ''the execution I mean.''

''Nah, they deserve it.'' Felicity says. But I don't like it when people die because of me.

"Whoa, we almost died," Noah says, and I can't help but smile. "If that scary lady hadn't come out of her castle, we would've been bidding farewell to our precious heads." he says and shivers.
''Let's say we're lucky then.'' Leon says looking at me and I blush.

We walk through the icy palace and a maid approaches us.
''The queen is waiting for you in the throne room.'' she says.
''Thank you.'' I smile and follow her.

It seems that I have forgotten where the rooms on this palace are. When was the last time I was here? When I was ten?

"Don't you think we arrived here a bit too quickly?" Felicity asks and my eyes widen. So she felt it too? I thought the journey seemed shorter because I was asleep. How is this possible? Were the horses faster?

''Evangeline.'' my grandma calls as soon as we're inside the throne room. She rises from the throne and comes toward me with a mesmerizing elegance.

My grandmother never lost her shine, even that she's old she still looks beautiful and young. She's wearing an amazing silver gown with an ice crown on top of her blonde hair.
