Mandakini POV
After spending two weeks in the hospital, I was finally discharged, but I refused to visit Thakur mansion. I asked my father to take me back to Kashi.
He grumbled initially that I should give 'us' a chance, but it was too much for me now, and I cannot continue with him anymore. He agreed with me eventually, and now we were heading back to Varanasi. I didn't bother asking Balraj Singh Thakur for the permission, nor did I want to inform him this.
Some of the close servants that I had there were ready to pack up my belongings for me, and now they had returned.
Niharika didi was referred to PGI, Lucknow since she wasn't improving at all. She used to get panic attacks, and she used to yell 'Stop, stop!'. She is scarred for life. I don't know how will she get over this trauma.
"Thakurain, thakur saheb got to know that you are leaving, and we don't think he will let you leave him."
One of them spoke up, and I inhaled sharply.
"We don't want you to leave, thakurain. Please don't go."
The other one, who was of my age, beseeched me. She held my palm between hers.
"I don't think he did it intentionally, and we all do mistakes. Please give him a chance."
The first one said. She joined her hands before me to request me to stay with them.
"I lost my baby because of his 'mistake'. That's blunder, not mistake."
I almost yelped, but in a low voice because I was still in the hospital.
"Priye!"
My head pivoted into the direction of his voice. He was standing at the entrance of the ward. He has been trying to talk to me for the last two weeks, but I kept ignoring him.
He seems dull now, a little malnourished too, broken and his eyes have lost the sparkle. I feel bad for him, but what I have gone through was a nightmare. I didn't answer him, and brought my gaze back to the belongings.
"Please, please priye, I beg of you. Please don't do this. We'll see to it, I will personally take care of everything. Please..... please forgive me."
He implored me, and knelt before me suddenly. The nurses and ward boys around us started staring at him. He is the MLA, and he should not act like this before everyone. It seems he has forgotten who he is.
"Don't..... don't do that...Raj... sorry..... Balraj Singh...... please stand up. People are watching you."
I held his biceps, and tried explaining to him, but he shrugged me off.
"I fucking don't care who is watching me, and who I'm. Please.....you are my everything, my Ardhangini. I'll die if you leave me. I need you, priye. Please..... please!"
He begged again. For a moment, I wanted to forgive him and forget everything, but the memories of whatever happened with me that night flashed before my eyes, and I strengthened my heart.
"You should have signed the divorce papers."
I muttered, hiding my tear filled gaze from him.
"I cannot.....you know it. Please I won't even touch you without your permission, but don't torment me like this. We both have done mistakes. You had also lied to me."
He tried to explain to me, but the last words he spoke made me gasp. So he meant to blame me at this time.
"So you are here to blame me?"
