**Chapter Nine ~ Just Friends?**
Bob and Katelyn walk along the seafront together. An escape from all the sadness. A way to lighten the load of Katelyn's father passing. They walk next to each other. Their hands occasionally grazing each other.
"Would you maybe.. I dunno.. Want to go out for lunch or dinner with me one day?" Bob's question is unexpected. Katelyn's face heats up and she's lost for words.
"What?" She accidentally says, wishing she had answered differently.
"As friends of course. Just a friendly outing." His words are rushed and he trips on them slightly. He looks away from her and rubs the back of his neck awkwardly.
"Yeah.. Yeah.. of course.. Friends." Katelyn mumbles to herself, feeling her heart sink slightly. "I'd love to."
"You would!?" He responds quickly and excitedly before clearing his throat. "I mean.. Is tomorrow okay? We can go for dinner at this nice restaurant I've found and maybe stop by the hard deck for some drinks afterwards?"
Katelyn chuckles and nods. "I like the sound of that."
Bob smiles at her, his eyes glowing in the sunset and his cheeks becoming a light pink as a soft blush makes it's way across them.
They don't quite notice how their hands have suddenly grown warmer. How they've somehow intertwined together.

Katelyn struggles to find an outfit to wear as she once again, throws another shirt on her bed.
"Ughh Calli. I don't know what to wear." She groans, sitting on her bed next to her cat. Calli meows in return, as if she's trying to give her opinion. When the cat realizes that she's not being understood, she jumps off the bed and looks up at a dress hanging in the closet. Katelyn looks follows the cat with her gaze, looking at the dress.
"That may be too fancy though." She sighs, standing up and taking the dress off of the hanger.
The cat meows again as Katelyn holds the dress up to her body while looking in the mirror.
"Okay.. Maybe you're right." She smiles, gently laying the dress on her bed as she does her hair and makeup. She chooses a very light and natural makeup style and loose curls with a dutch braid for her hair, scattering the braid with some white flowers.
She finally puts the dress on and looks in the mirror. "How do I look Calli?" She asks the cat, getting an excited meow in return.
As if the timing was perfect, there's a knock on her door. She goes to open it. Bob is stood there holding some white roses. He's wearing a light grey trousers and a white shirt with his sleeves rolled up and the top button undone. Fancy but casual at the same time.
Katelyn's cheeks heat up at the sight and she smiles.
"Um.. I got these for you.." Bob says, holding the flowers to her and failing to hide his flushed face. Katelyn takes them from him and places them in a vase.
"I love them! Shall we go?" She smiles, he nods and holds a hand out to her. She takes it and follows behind, closing her door behind her.
"You look r.. really nice." Bob stutters quietly, causing Katelyn to blush even more.
"So do you." She smiles. His hair isn't slicked back like it usually is. It's fluffy and has small ringlets in it.

The two of them arrive at the restaurant. It looks fancy and Katelyn can't help but look around in awe. Seems like Calli helped pick the perfect outfit for the occasion.
