A few days after the murder, Sheld Gas Station reopened, but its reputation had been severely tarnished due to the perceived lack of security. As a result, they now received only one or two customers a day, leading to the decision to permanently close the store. You would soon be transferred to another gas station, a bit further away. It wasn't an entirely different location, but it did mean you would have to drive 30 minutes to get there instead of the usual 5.
Today was Tuesday, and this afternoon you would be the one closing the store for the last time and handing the key over to the owner of the new gas station, "L.G.S." (Local Gas Station), a friend of your old boss.
To clear your mind, you and a co-worker decided to hang out at an indoor aquarium park. His name was Carlos, and he was about ten years older than you. Although you never really had the chance to talk with him much, he was the one who invited you, which made it even better.

It's been two days now I haven't heard about Mason.
Before disappearing, he left me a note saying that he was sorry and would never come back, ever again.
I tried to contact him through his phone but he would not respond..
"Are you okay ?" Asked Carlos, snapping me back to reality
"Yeah !" My gaze locked on the beautiful fishes swimming all around the place.
I refused to look at him. I was about to tear up about the fact that my best friend had beeen ignoring me for the past couple days.
"You're too nice for your own sake.." Carlos placed a supportive hand on my shoulder "You work hard, just for living decently. Your boss stresses you more day after day, but you do not complain. He dies, and here you are, litteraly devastated."
"I'm going to be transferred in another workplace, 30 minutes from where I live." I sighed "It's not that bad, I just don't like the way things are turning right now."
"Oh that sucks. The person who killed your boss must really be a bastard trying to be a hero." Carlos spat.
And in a moment of opening our heart..
Carlos abruptly take out his hand from my shoulder. His eyes were wide opened for a second, drifting from me to behind me. Before he shook his head and act like nothing happened.
I got surprised and looked around me. But. Nothing. Besides people.
"Erm... M...maybe it's for the best, don't you think?" he said, clearing his throat. I could sense a hint of unease in his voice. "You know, sometimes a person—erm, a situation can seem horrible at first, but in the end, it turns out to be the best thing ever."
"Are you okay?" I asked, noticing his odd behavior.
"Yeah, yeah!" he responded quickly.
He sighed
"You know, I have a kid at home," Carlos began. "At first, when I found out her mother wouldn't be around to take care of her, I thought life would be miserable for both me and my daughter. But it turns out, it was the best decision I ever made. I live happily with my child now."
"How sweet," I said, genuinely touched.
We walked further and saw a group of sharks swimming together, seemingly at ease.
"People from my own family judged me for this," Carlos continued. "But listen, one day, a group of people—not just one person, but an entire group—will judge you harshly on every aspect of your life. It could be anyone: family, friends, strangers. But don't take it too personally. They often do that not because they actually have a reason to hate you but because they're too focused on themselves and trying to fit in somewhere."
