The silence was so loud we could've hear the squeaking wood chair move, I mean.. the chair I was sitting on. Here. In this famous Italian Restaurant.
Everything was silent, people, waiters, the cooking chef, us, and everything that was starring at me and Francis in pure confusion, or hatred, or whatever.
I was sitting there, hands on the two sits table, totally aware of everyone's eyes on us.
Was it because my entire town suspected me of being the murderer of my own boss, or was it because of the red dark blood staining his shirt, really really noticeable despite the coat he brought to hide everything.
"I don't understand, why did you insist to go there..?"
The chandelier enlighten his jaded, motionless eyes on me.
"Because there's no way you're going back home again all alone." he stated firmly "And I had to get us in a crowded area.. in these silent empty streets."
(I mean, okay but, everything about us two makes it not much better inside this fancy restaurant..)
"Are you not bothered by... everyone...?" I spoke in a low voice, my eyes searching for any signs of discomfort in him.
"Mm, no. Besides, I wanted to take you somewhere since we haven't talked in so long."
(Okayy I guess...?)
I stared at his shirt and the messy hair he passed his finger through before drifting my gaze to my casual outfit : a simple shirt, some jogging pants and white sneakers.
"Mmm. I'm sorry if it's not to your liking, I didn't expect the night to be so..messy." Francis apologized "How about we just get some drinks and I'll head us to my apartment ?"
"I mean, you don't have to apologize, since I got myself in trouble.. But sure, I'd love to."
(Nothing more pleasing that spending some quality time with The Milkman, right after experiencing the most traumatic thing of my life !)
(No but I actually mean it.)
He slightly frowned, and stayed silent until we reached his apartment.
_
I recognized the blue, aquarium like mood. His two cats and the fishes in his aquarium tank.
"Do you like.. fishing ?" I asked, unsure of if it was a good idea or not to break the silence.
"Mmm. No." he took off his coat. "Do you ?"
I sat on the couch and fidgeted with my fingers, unsure on what to do now.
(Am I really going to sleep there or what..?)
"I mean.. It's kinda fun, I think." I replied
He stood still and glanced at me. "We could go fishing if you'd like. I mean.. You're right, it's a fun thing to do."
I lay against the backrest of the sofa.
"I didn't prepare anything to eat at home.. if you want we can order something ?" he added
"I'm good"
(Yes. Yes I am starving. And No I am not going to tell him the truth)
"Are you sure, that you're okay ?"
"I just discovered that someone spread rumours about me, and how I supposedly, killed my boss, but other than that, I'm Good." I humphed.
He remained Silent
"I mean.. I'm not hungry ?" I clarified myself.
"Mm. You weren't supposed to be the main suspect." he finally talked "I'll take a quick shower, and we could talk about this later, does that sound good ?"
I nodded before he left to the bathroom and closed the door.
Leaving me again. Alone with these thoughts.
The opened kitchen had an amazing smell, which made me go there and open the fridge.
Inside, of course. bottles of milk, as well as some left overs and pieces of a beautifully roasted chicken.
(Goodness. He wouldn't mind me taking one or two ? Right ?)
It seemed like it was made this noon, or at least, recently.
Its golden luscious skin was literally asking to be eaten, and its smell.. Divine.
I got back to the couch where a tuxedo cat was lying down, and I started eating.
"Who said there was no good food prepared for tonight ?" I whispered to myself, enjoying the delicious 'meal' in my hand.
The cat jumped at the smell of the chicken and climbed onto my lap, trying to reach the delicious food he was smelling.
"I know, right ?!" I talked to the cat, and gave him some.
(Yes. I am currently going crazy.)
Once done, I threw the bones, washed my hand and headed to the balcony to breath some fresh air, despite the cold night.
(What on earth am I supposed to do anymore ?)
I was leaning against the metal bar, my eyes moving to every corner of the apartment, my mind recalling every events that has happened until now before completely freezing at the sight of the laundry basket, filled with clothes that was stained in also blood.
"It must be Scarlet Milk" I joked at myself, trying to feel reassured as I slowly approached the washing machine next to it.
As I took a closer look, I noticed blond hair and.. what seemed to be a collar.
What seemed to be Mason's collar.
"What..." I almost fumbled.
Hands abruptly behind me shut my eyes and my mouth.
"It's too late now.."
