It truly means a lot when you see people are actually liking your story. Let's get on with it. Also the kingdoms have fast food restaurants so they have McDonalds.

Percy POV

The sun rose so slowly like it didn't care about other people. It goes down when it wants and it comes up when it wants. It's a carefree lifestyle. Not caring what other people think; just living life to the fullest. Enjoying every bit of life even the tiny moments that are like an atom. I think everyone wants to be like the sun. I know I want to. I care about everything and everyone. It's exhausting. My mom says my fatal flaw is loyalty. I'm loyal to everyone even people who tried to hurt me. I just hate that I still think about Luke time to time. Like if he's doing okay because he got stripped of his job. I hate that I think about the psychotic person who kidnapped my sister.

I met a lot of opinionated people in the past. Trust me, it's not a good experience. I care about what people think of me. Every single thing. Like, when Estelle got kidnapped, I was broken. So broken. Guilt was eating me from the inside and I didn't know how to cope. Actually I think I did. I started to make jokes. It was the only mechanism that worked. I thought, if I watched her better, then she would still be here. 

I was just thinking and thinking ever since me and my friends came out here and just stood for 35 minutes. I felt a warm hand cover mine. I looked to see, Annabeth. The girl who was like a storm. You never knew what she could do until you experience it. She was unpredictable

"Seaweed Brain you okay?" she said her forehead scrunching up.

"Yes Wise Girl I'm fine I just... feel a little tired." I said. It was half lie and half truth. Yesterday I was fine. But this morning, I vomited my guts out and lost my appetite.

Annabeth lifted her hand and placed it on my forehead. "Percy you're burning up. You're so hot."

"I know," I said smirking. 

She slapped me on the head. "That's not what I meant Seaweed Brain. I'm serious you have a fever. Are you sure you're gonna compete?"

"Yeah Annabeth I'm fine." She nodded and went to talk to Hazel

Finally the attendants came. Me, Piper, and Neeks were doing the fire challenge. One attendant came to me.

"Hello Perseus. Today your challenge is to run ten miles on burning coals barefoot." He said calmly.

Coals. Are you serious? Why do I have all the hard ones. Nico over there is eating food with the hottest sauce in the world. Why do I have to run in coals barefoot?

I nod and make my way with him. But Annabeth jogs over to me.

"Percy wait." Annabeth came closer and placed her lips on mine. Her lips were so soft and our breaths were perfectly in sync. A part of his brain was yelling I'm kissing Annabeth!!

She pulled away and said, "Be careful out there Seaweed brain." She turned on her heels and left putting on her hat. I was just standing there awestruck. I just got kissed. Yay!!!

The attendant was waiting. He was glaring at me. Geez looks like he isn't a romantic guy.  

I took off my shoes and socks and started my challenge. At first it wasn't bad. But after a few minutes my legs started to burn. The rocks were slicing into my skin. When the fire was seeping into the cuts, it sting even more. The nausea in my stomach came back. The headache came back. Ughhhh.

I was running for a few minutes. The burns on my feet were agonizing. The pain was getting unbearable but I pushed through. 

A sign said I was on mile four. Four! It had been longer than that. The fire was spreading through my legs making them numb but I could still feel the pain. I tried to ignore it. As I was running, my flesh was squelching as the coals were digging into my skin. It was getting too hot so I took off my shirt and put it around my neck. I was running...
