Alpha/beta/omega dynamics, soulmates and shifters.

The young Finnish alpha driver rushes back after a horrible race, trying to escape the media and all the flashing cameras. His stupid car had failed him in mid race, it just had to breakdown on him. Like the two racing before this.

He had done so his best, so his best and it had been for nothing, the car had broken down on him. Just like it had done to his friend, Fernando. Who he knows isn't too happy with the race either.

All he can do right now, is get back to his driver's room and take a shower, get changed into his normal clothes before he has to do interviews and other media duties that he rather not do.

He doesn't care what, but he rather not have to do them. He doesn't care what kind of excuse comes onto his path. As long as he has an excuse to miss them. Even if he has to suddenly care for an injured bird or something.

But he hates doing media, mostly since they're starving sharks that wait for any slip ups to feed on and manifest into a scandal. Trying to ruin your reputation in a way that would leave you in shambles.

He shakes his head, he's slightly jealous of Verstappen sr. He gets to use every single dad excuse in the book. He doesn't need to appear in the media if his pup needs anything or something related to that. He gets away with getting late, he gets to blame his pup for it.

Even though blaming his pup for being late is bad, he at least has a good excuse not to show up. He gets away with things that most drivers aren't. And yet, he's never seen Verstappen's pup once. All he knows is that the pup's name is Max and that he's three and a half years old.

Technically, he isn't ready to be a parent, but he would love to use the single dad excuses to get out of these horrible duties.

But a part of him is happy he doesn't have a pup, they seem hard to care for. As Verstappen sr had shown. He hasn't shown any fun in raising a pup yet. He always seems disappointed when someone asks about his pup.

He shakes his head, trying to rid himself of the weird dutchman and his pup. He continues on his way from the scooter back to his team. Many cameras try to catch images of him and show them to the world. Plaster his face on the internet with definition of him being retired for the race.

He hates this side of the sport, the media attention and how much of his life is on display. Of only it wasn't.

Once he gets back to his garage, he gets shoulder pets from his team as an apology. So he shortly exchanges some words and debriefs with them before he's send off to get changed and showered before heading to his media duties.

So he nods at his team, ready to get changed when an angry Verstappen sr rushes past the garage, shouting his pup's name as he goes and he just shrugs his off before leaving the garage to get to his driver's room.

He goes up the stairs and through a narrow hall towards his and his teammate's drivers rooms. Which are side by side.

He suddenly stops dead in his tracks, seeing his driver's room door ajar, which he remembers closing the very door before the race started and he remembers turning the lights off as he left but he can see the lights through the gap of the open door.
