People say not to listen to rumors, not everything about them are true. Like the story of Nyx being a vile, cruel goddess seeking revenge on the world.

But they weren't wrong, they just didn't finish telling the whole story. Mostly because they didn't know it. Nyx was terrible, but not forever.

At the beginning, Nyx created the world, from a single star to the smallest atom. It was great until people came into the picture, destroying the earth itself.

Years passed and Nyx grew bitter and cold. Even the gods feared what she could do. She went down to earth one day, seeing the world the humans destroyed.

That day turned out different than she expected. People were good and bad. It was hard to describe what she saw. People did care about the earth. And she met someone. A man. Nathan Reynolds.

She saw the world by spending time in it, not looking from afar. She saw that people adapted in the world, they needed to adapt to move on for the future.

Her bitterness changed, she never felt so alive. It was so much different being around people then on Mount Olympus with the others gods and goddesses.

She felt love. A feeling she didn't know she could feel. Nathan made her feel seen, made her feel heard. In secret, they began a relationship. It wasn't until she was attacked by a Minotaur that Nyx had to tell Nathan who she truly was.

They ran away together, but no matter where they went, the gods always found them. The gods saw she was becoming to attached to the world, to the people. She was weak. The only reason she made it far was because of Poseidon.

Poseidon and Nyx were alike, they both loved the human world, it made them feel so alive. They both found love for and in the world.

Unfortunately, Nyx and Nathan weren't able to escape. The gods found them and took Nyx, Nathan never seeing his fiancé again.

Nyx was brought back to Olympus and stripped of her immortality and powers, sent to a prison in the Underworld. Her life she had was gone, she didn't even get to say goodbye.

Unknown to the gods, Nathan wasn't the only one left in their home the night Nyx was taken. A baby girl.

The baby looked just like her mother, although, she had grey, starry eyes that looked unreal. Nathan didn't know how to raise his child alone, when the love of his life was just ripped away from him. But he tried.

For eight years, he raised his daughter the best he could. He was able to get a house, maintain a good job, and got her into a good school. Some don't think him raising her was the safest option for Naia.

To Naia, he was a great father. He always made time for her, whether to help with her homework she had a hard time with because of her ADHD or to spend quality time with her. He also began training her to fight for when monsters would finally find her scent.

But it wasn't the monsters they had to worry about. Zeus found out Nyx's beg secret, the reason she never lost hope she would be able to escape her prison. He found Naia.

He poisoned Nathan's heart so Naia and him could never be within five feet of each other. That's when monsters began attacking. Naia left her home to protect her father. She knew one day, she would find a cure and be with her father again.

She left her father a note, leaving him a little piece of her.

Of course, there were many spelling mistakes in her letter that took about an hour to write. It's been six years since Naia has seen her father, and a day didn't go by where Nathan didn't think of his Bug.
