With her whole life packed away into three suitcases and ten boxes the girl was ready to leave. Her grandpa had ended things with Cheyenne and placed the house up for sale. All she needed to hear was that they had completed their transaction with the house down the valley. For saying they brought it that day it was beautiful. It was a two story house, the second floor being below ground level made an excellent place for a hide out especially when her grandfather has people over.

With the night slowly approaching her stomach began to rumble. Lou quickly exited her room and walked down the stairs towards the kitchen. Due to Cheyennes departure they didn't have to eat the vegan shit she did. However sometimes Terry enjoyed the minor things she had made. When she got downstairs the girl noticed the silver hair sat on one of the counter chairs.
"Hello my sweet" he called. Elouise smiled. "Hi Pa, whatchu doing?" She asked

"Just looking at photos, why don't you grab a plate and we can look together." The man gestures to the food he cooked on the side. "Of course" she replied before getting herself a plate of lasagna.

"This is so good" she complimented as the wonderful flavours hit her taste buds. "Thank you sweetie. Now come sit" the girl did as he asked and pulled out the chair next to him. She placed her plate down and stared at the photos that were all out infront of him.

She quickly cleared her plate as he flicked through some of the photos her eyes lingering at one. "Pa, pause" she instructed taking the photo out of his hand.

Within the photo it consisted of her, her parents and a woman. "Who's that" she asked pointing at the ginger woman.

"That my dear is your grandma, me and your dad fell out before you were born so him and your mother took off and once your grandma heard she screamed and screamed at me claiming I was in the wrong. I said I wasn't but that wasn't good enough for her apparently. She quickly divorced me and left. Two weeks after you were born she died. I wish I could take back that night. I would like to apologise to your father even if it wasn't my doing. I think if that night never happened they'd still be alive today and we'd all be a happy family." Terry sighed as he stared at the photo.

"Your grandma liked to torture me with photos of her and your parents. When she sent this one she claimed that it was your mother's niece. I knew she was bull shitting because your mum never had any siblings. However I was so blinded by heartbreak I believed it. I'd of never thought I'd be taking care of you in the future. But I'm glad that you're now mine. I'm glad even if I don't get to make it up to your father I can make things right with him through you" he continued as he fought thew the tears that treated to fall.

"Pops. You're the best. Please don't let the past take over. I'm sure that argument was a mistake." Lou said. She wondered what they could've fought about but it must've been major if he never even hinted.

"Thank you my dear. Why don't you go to bed and I'll wash up. We have to leave at around 11 in the morning so please be ready for half ten. I love you" he said as he gently patted her head.

Elouise quickly got of her stool and headed for the stairs. "I love you too pa." She called out

---------------

The next morning Elouise was up and ready by ten. She had packed her car up and was ready to go. Her room was empty. It broke her heart in the slightest as this was the house she had grown up in. She couldn't remember the house her parents had. I suppose she was too little to even remember them. Her memory faltered. Elouise could picture a slight image of their little family yet never the memories they had. All she could remember was Terry taking her in and treating her like royalty.

Elouise sat on the grass as she watched the waves crash against the rocks beneath her. It brought her peace. The views were the biggest thing she was going to miss about this house. The waves crashing brought her peace. A sense of comfort. It calmed her. A hand was gently placed on her shoulder forcing her to jump. "Shit you scared me" she squealed as she placed a hand on her chest feeling her heart exploding. "Sorry my love. I just wanted to tell you that I'm ready to go if you are?" He asked.

"Yep! Cars all packed. I'm ready. I think it's time" she smiled

"Okay. Just to be sure you have Rexy and Malcom."he reminded her.

Rexy was her favourite teddy. Named after her favourite dinosaur in Jurassic park. Rexy was the first thing silver ever brought the girl. When he saw her file for the first time he noticed on a note it said everything she liked. So the man went out of his way to make sure she had what she needed. Rexy was a vibrant green stegosaurus. Even though it was a different species she still called it after her most favourite. Malcom on the other hand was named after her favourite character. Ian Malcom. Malcom was a dilophosaurus another favourite of hers.

"Yep! There both in the car, we'll passenger seat." She smiled.

"Of course." He laughed. "Let's go sweetheart" he gently took her hand as he walked her to his car.
"If you need me just call, I will stop at a breakfast place to get you food for the journey. It won't be that long but just incase." He pressed a kiss against her forehead before walking over to his car.

Elouise had connected her phone to the car already so her music blasted in her ear. Queens Bohemian Rhapsody. She waited for Terry to depart first and once he did she followed after.

Ten minutes later Terry had pulled into a car park. The name of the restaurant he went into was unknown to the girl. But she waited for him to come out. The silver haired man waltzed over to her car. The girl opened her door and he passed her the food. "Right so I got you some fruit and then also some pancakes. So take your time eating. I'll be in my car. Message me once you're done and I'll set off. Okay sweetheart?" He asked. The girl could only smile. "Thank you. Pa."

Once she finished her food she messaged the man that she was ready, an incoming call came up on the screen on the headboard.

"Did you like it my sweet?" He questioned

"It was lovely. Thank you" she replied

"The call went quiet for a moment

"Sweetheart. I'm going to stop off at the dojo once we get there. You're free to come if you'd like or you could go shopping for food or just go straight to the house if you'd rather." He told her

"I'll go shopping. I'd rather walk into the new house with you." She replied.
She knew by the silence that her grandpa was smiling. He let out a slight chuckle before beginning to talk. "Of course honey. I'll send you some money to pay. I wouldn't want you spending yours."

"Thank you pa."

And with that he hung up.

It wasn't that she needed his money. She was loaded too. But Terry wouldn't let her spend her own money on any household items. He always said she had to spend her money on the things she wanted. Not the things she needed.

The drive to the valley wasn't that bad. Elouise placed into her maps the nearest food shop whilst Terry went in the other direction. She pulled up into the parking lot and braced herself.

--------------------

She was halfway into her shop. The shopping cart getting quite full. All she needed was a few smaller bits. Lou made her way over to the candy isle and searched her and her PA's favourite treats. She placed the cart against the side as she walked over to the chocolate. Her body crashed into another. "Shit I am so sorry!" She gasped. She immediately went to pick up the things the person had dropped.

"It's not your fault. Don't worry" he replied trying to calm the girl.
"No it totally is. I'm so sorry. Please let me pay for your things." She replied. Even though nothing was broken and he wasn't injured she felt it was the right thing to do seen as everything had fallen. "No. You don't have to pay. Although weird ask. But could I get your number?" He asked

She blushed. "Of course. I'm Elouise. But everyone called me Lou" she said as she tapped her number into his phone. "Well Lou, I'm Eli but some people call me hawk." He gestured to the Mohawk on his head. "It was nice to meet you Eli. I'll be waiting for a text" she winked before leaving the isle with the treats in her cart.
