"Woah woah Carla let me help you." Her grandpa shouted.

"I got it pops" Elouise replied helping Carla with the tray.

"Thank you lou" Carla smiled as she walked away from the girl.

Elouise turned away from the tray she noticed a man walking up the driveway. "Pops, someone's here.." she turned to him with uncertainty. The elder man saw her concerns and quickly jogged over only to be shocked with the face of his old friend.

"What do you want." Silvers voice was low. Elouise could tell her grandfather didn't want this man here.

"I'm not here to cause any trouble. I just want to catch up" the man infront of them smirked. "Elouise you've grown up beautiful" he smiled.

The man stepped closer towards them his face dropping when he notices the garden filled with people. Cheyenne. Her grandfather's girlfriend waltzed over clearly wanted some attention from the other male.

"Everything okay babe" she asked Terry before wrapping an arm around the younger girl. Ew.

It wasn't that Elouise hated Cheyenne, she just couldn't tolerate her look at me attitude. She was different to when it was just the three of them to when it was a whole house of people. Cheyenne was the type of woman to only be with a man for his money. And for her grandfathers? Well she'd be here to stay.

"This is John Kreese. An old friend" Terry replied his tone dry like he didn't have time for her or his 'old friend'.

"Well any friend of Terrance is a friend of mine" Cheyenne said with a smile placing a hand out infront of her. "Pleasure" John smiled

Elouise let out a slight laugh next to her.
"Of course they are. Any male with a look a of cash you'd end up becoming friends with them"

Terry couldn't help but smirk at his granddaughters outbreaks. He knew she couldn't tolerate Cheyenne sometimes but he also knew how much she needed a woman around the house.

"So, terrance you've actually tied the knot huh?" Kreese asked his face eyeing the pair

"I fucking hope not" Elouise whispered

"Oh, no we're not married. Terrance and I are enjoying the journey for now." Cheyenne trailed off.

The journey in cheyennes head was to rinse her pops of his money before flaking off and moving to the next man that breaths air in her direction.

"We are just having some hors d oeuvres, would you join us" Cheyenne asked the man again.

Her pops tried to cut in for the man however Kreese put up a fight. "That would be splendid thank you." He smirked his face staring right at the silver haired man In front of him.

"Great. How about a mimosa" cheyennes cheery voice stuck her eardrums it was as if someone placed a pan over her head and repeatedly hit it with a wooden spoon. Cheyenne and Kreese quickly left the pair to go get there drinks. All Elouise could do was turn around slowly with a smug look on her face.

"Don't even say it" his tone was stern but he couldn't help but let out a smile.

"You can't tell me she won't cheat. Just look at her she's all over him" Elouise laughed.

"Yeah yeah whatever. Let's hope this day gets over quickly so he can fuck off" he chuckled

Terry wrapped an arm around his granddaughter and guided her towards the party.

"It's a vegan tofu skewer" Cheyenne repeated. As if her voice needed to be heard twice. "It's totally organic. Just, uh, dip it in the cilantro cashew sauce" she carried on.

"Pops why does she like this shit" the young girl questioned looking up and her pops. The man just shrugged before continuing to drag her over.

"No, thank you. I'm just not hungry" John Kreese mumbled. He tried to hide the look of disgust on his face.

Elouise leaned over to him. "Think of how I feel having to eat this shit all the time." John let out a laugh  at the girls comment before turning his attention back to the curly haired beauty infront of him.

"So you and Terrance, you've known each other for a while?" The woman asked. "Fifty years, we met in Nam. Special forces" Kreese replied.

"You never told me you were in the military" Cheyennes face snapped towards her boyfriend

"He never told you a lot of things" the blonde girl mumbled.

"There's not much to tell." Terry responded dryly.

"Right not much"

Elouise was getting sick of their 'lover's quarrel' she wanted to leave this party immediately and find someplace elsewhere to go.

"You lot are boring me. I'm going on a drive. Keys please" she smiled at her grandpa with her hand out.

"Have fun sweetheart, stay safe. I love you" he smiled passing the keys over to his child.
"I love you to pa!" She called out

The girl felt happy she got her way because she never wanted to be there in the first place. She walked over to her car and plopped herself into the drivers seat. With her keys in the ignition and the music blasting she began her journey.
-----------
The moment the sun started to set she began to return home. Her bag of clothes in the seat next to her with Lana del reys carmen playing along side her.

As she pulled up to the driveway John Kreese's car was walking out to leave, he gestured towards lou to roll be window down. The young girl rolled down his window next to him. " did you grandfather ever teach you karate?" He asked. The younger girl raised a brow. "Of course he did. Why wouldn't he.?" She questioned. "Just wondering." The man replied before waltzing out of the driveway.

------------
The next morning the girl woke up with a banging headache. "Fuck"
She groaned. Carla entered the room.
"What's wrong lou? Headache?" She questioned. "Yep" Elouise replied annunciating the 'p'. "Well did you eat last night?" Carla eyed the girl, she watched for any sign of discomfort.

"Uhhh no. I suppose I forgot to" lie. She didn't forget the thought of food that night made her feel physically ill.
"Okay honey. Well your grandpa had made you a fruit bowl since you know, the cooks mess it up somehow" Carla lets out a giggle.

"Carla you know they put ridiculous shapes in it and they always ruin it with yogurt. I'm all for eating healthy but yogurt on my fruit isn't necessary." Lou smiles back at the woman.

Carla leaves the room to get back to cleaning whilst Elouise headed towards the kitchen. With her bowl on the side she left towards the garden. Plopping herself down onto the chair she watched as the tide slowly came closer to land whilst  eating her fruit.

"Sweetheart" a voice called

Lou turned around to see her pops smiling at her

"My love how would you feel if we moved down to the valley, if we left this life behind us. Cheyenne behind us. I can work with John at his karate dojo and maybe I can teach you again since it's been what? Four years" the silver haired man smiled as he sat beside her.

"Pa, that sounds wonderful. Yes I'd love to go! And I can't wait to start doing karate again. I've missed it." The smile on her face only made Terry smile. The man knew he never needed another girlfriend to keep him happy as all he needed was his granddaughter beside him and his life was complete.

"Okay sweetie, pack your bags. I'll get in contact with a realtor to sell the house and tell Cheyenne it's over. Would you be willing to drive separately or do you want me to come in your car so we can go together and someone can drive mine down?" He asked

"It's fine pa, I'll drive on my own as long as you stay in view." She replied

The man nodded with a smile. "I'll see you in a bit lou, I love you"

"I love you too grandpa"
