As I boarded the plane, I could feel cassius' annoyance and I enjoyed it to the core, he just wanted the money, I wasn't stupid, I knew he'd been stealing my money but after being in the music biz for up to 5 years, I didn't care, and besides..........., his son, I couldn't be responsible for rendering a child fearless, I knew what it means to lose someone you love and while I was pretty sure his son didn't love him, I couldn't take that guilt.
"Aren't you coming with me?", I asked.
"No"
"Why"
"Why should I ?"
I rolled my eyes.
"You're my manager"
"Not anymore I'm not"
"Did you just quit?"
"No, but under contract, you're not a music sensation anymore meaning you have no more shows, meaning you don't need a manager, meaning...."
"You're fired", I said cutting him off
He gritted his teeth, much to my satisfaction.
"Yes"
The smile on my face.......
"But still", I said, "Take it as a goodbye, we can go together, why pay for a ticket?"
I know what you're thinking, and yes, I have a private jet.
"No thank you, I have some business to attend to here, I'll be staying for at least another two weeks".
I didn't even want to know, I just stepped inside and waited for the plane to take off.

"Sophie!", my adoptive mother cried when she saw me.
"Hi mom", I said as I hugged her.
My dad looked at us smiling, "hey kiddo, how was the tour?"
"Good I guess"
I looked around.
"Where's Amy?".
"In school, she had an important test today so she couldn't come but she'll be home in a few hours".
"Oh" was all I could say.
They helped me with my bags and drove me home.
As we passed buildings, all I could think of was how much sightseeing is ahead of me, though I moved to new York when I was really young, I never got to see the place cause my career started just months after I'd arrived.
I had a lot of plans for my last teenage years.
"So Sophie", my mom snapped me out of my thoughts, "bring any souvenirs?", I grinned, my parents never had the opportunity to travel, not because they don't have the money but because they just never had the time, they were devoted veterans and when I say devoted, I mean devoted, they could see an injured animal and pick it up saying it needs 'intense medical care', and I mean any animal, once I came home to see an actual snake, don't even ask me how they found it or brought it to our home, all I remember was edaline (my mom) saying it was injured and me refusing to come out of my room til it was gone.
Ah....... memories.
"So?", my mom said.
"Oh, right, yeah, quite a lot actually"
Edaline squealed in delight and I rolled my eyes playfully.

We arrived home and I asked mom for the keys but she said the door was already open which was weird cause as far as I was concerned, we never left the door open when no one's home, I opened the door and was tackled with a hug from my sister jolie.
"Can't...... breathe", I managed to say between wheezes.
"Oh shush", she says, "I haven't seen you in almost a year soph, I can't take it easy"
I smiled and hugged her back with just as much energy, even though she was 8 years older, jolie was my best friend, my comfort and rock and I missed her more than I'd like to admit.
She finally let go of me and just held me.
"Look at you, all grown up", she gushed. I rolled my eyes, "You sound like mom".
"Well I'd like to think I sound like a mom, gotta be a good one don't you think?". I was about to ask what she meant by that when brant, her husband, walked in and in his arms was a baby.

A baby.

Jolie's baby.

Holy mother of butterblasts, I was an aunt!!.

"Is that....?", I trailed off.
Jolie nodded, the biggest and warmest smile on her face. Oh my God, oh my God, I was an aunt!!!

"Can I hold......", I looked at jolie.

"Her", she replied "And of course you can".

Brant carefully placed the little girl in my arms and my eyes teared up as I looked into her eyes, they were brown, just like Jolie's. " What's her name?", I asked.

" Emma"

I looked at jolie and there was no stopping the tears, mom came and hugged me gently, not so long ago, before I left for my tour, I found out that jolie and I were actually biological sisters, the both of us were adopted but at different time, we found out later that our parents were dead but no one knew how it happened, our mom's name was Emma.

"I'm sorry", I said between sobs, " I don't know why I'm crying". Mom smiled, "it's fine". I calmed down and looked at baby emma, she was too young to see her smile but her eyes were definitely sparkling, there was absolutely no way I was going to miss this girl growing up . "Hi Emma", I said, "I'm your aunt sophie", I said smiling.

"Ok that's enough, I wanna spend time with my daughter now", Brant said smiling as he took Emma from me. Jolie walked up to him and laid her head on his shoulder, Emma had somehow fallen asleep and they were looking at her with so much love, it was choking.

I sighed happily and went to my room to unpack, I had a lot of customizing to do, ok well not a lot, my room still looked the same from when I left but I was 13 at the time, now I was 14 going to 15 and things had changed, one thing hadn't though, I looked around but I didn't see it, on my shelf....

No, not there

Under my pillow?

Nope, not there either

So where was it...?

I decided to look in my closet for some reason and there it was sitting on a platform.

My stuffed elephant, Ella.
I brought it down and looked at it, the stuffed toy looked ok considering how long I'd kept it, when I was at the orphanage, I had nightmares and couldn't sleep, one day a nice lady came and spent some time, I was able to tell her about my sleepless nights since I didn't look too good, when she heard, she smiled and gave me Ella saying it would help.......... and it did, eventually I just couldn't let it go.

I looked around my room again and smiled, I couldn't wait to start my life.

"Sophie!, dinner", mom called, "Coming", I responded. I quickly changed and put on some more comfortable clothes. I went downstairs and my mouth watered looking at the spread on the table. Gosh I loved edaline..........and her cooking. When dinner was over, she brought a tray of mallowmelt and I kid you not, I screamed. Everyone looked at me like I was crazy but hey when you've been away from your favorite desert for a year, you tend to lose composure when you do see it.

I slept that night feeling happier than I have in a while. Tomorrow was school and I just couldn't wait.
