16. The Truth

"Jimin... I'm coming straight to the point.. Why are you here? " Jin asked while Jimin kept avoiding eye contact.

"Hyung I- "

"I swear I'll not be mad at you " Jin said softly, cutting off Jimin.

Jimin sighed knowing there was no option other than saying the truth....

Finally, Jimin decided to tell the truth. He couldn't hide something like this from his Jin hyung for this long.. he never lied with Jin but the situations made him say so.

He knows that Jin is a calm person who will try to understand his situation and feelings.

Starting with a deep sigh, Jimin told the whole truth to Jin while Jin just listened to him without reacting, analyzing the criticality of the situation.

"This is what happened hyung.. I... I'm so sorry I didn't tell you earlier ", he said, his tears threatening to come out.

"Hey...Jimin... I can understand... don't cry please. I can't stand seeing you like this. Stop crying "- Jin said with a reassuring tone to comfort him.

Jimin suddenly hugged Jin and let out all his tears. Jin was surprised at his sudden action but wrapped his arms around him, patting his back.

"It's fine, Jimin. Don't worry... You and Yoongi will be safe... I promise... "

Jimin slowly pulled out and wiped his tears.

"Thanks hyung... for understanding.."

Jin smiled but soon it faded away.

"But there's a truth which you don't know, Jimin."

"Huh? Wh...what truth is it, now?"

Jimin's heart rate quickens as he hears that he needed to know another truth... What would it be? How terrible is the truth? He silently hoped that the truth will be something pleasant and not add any chaos to the situation.

"What is it, Hyung?"

Jin sighed.

"Yoongi is a Police"

Jimin stared at him in disbelief. He needed few seconds to process what Jin just said... what did he say?? Yoongi? Was.... a cop? Then why is he doing this mafia thing?!? How did Jin know that Yoongi was a cop? Jin never knew who was Yoongi, right?

More questions started to pop up in his mind as he still stared at Jin. Finally, after what feels like eternity, Jimin spoke up.

".......what?" He said, his voice barely coming out his throat.

Meanwhile Hobi who was watching the whole conversation, spoke up.

"Yes Jimin, Yoongi is a cop..."

"B- but hyung... how is that possible??? He's a mafia now..."

"Let me tell you the truth."

Hobi sighed.

"Yoongi was actually a police, with higher rank than Jin hyung. But you know.... that guy... who speaks to you through calls, is his rival.... the biggest enemy of Yoongi's life "

"Yes hyung, I know that. But-"

Hobi cut Jimin off and continued--

FLASHBACK

Yoongi was coldly staring through his window, poking his inner cheek. The anger evident in his eyes. He had just lost his job, and it bothered him till core.

He continued to stare when he felt a hand on his shoulder- a familiar touch.
He knew who it was.

"What do you want, Hoseok?" He said without tearing his gaze off the window.
