Situations In The Rain

Nicky was sneaking across the street around 6 or 7 PM, heading towards Peterson's house. As he stepped onto the front lawn, he noticed a multitude of bear traps scattered around. It was clear that Peterson had set them up. Carefully maneuvering through the traps, Nicky spotted an open window.

Nicky: "Can't fool me. I know what you're doing."

Instead of using the window, Nicky headed to the back door, which was locked. He took out his lock picks and began to work on the door. After about a minute, the lock clicked open. Stepping inside, he was greeted by walls plastered with missing posters of various kids, including Mya and Aaron.

Nicky: "Man, why can't you just clean your house?"

Nicky walked inside and quietly shut the door behind him. He found himself in a dimly lit hallway with flickering lights. Moving cautiously, he continued down the hall and ended up in a room with the basement door. However, the door was secured with a red lock.

Nicky: "well i won't be needing that crowbar anymore. Now I need a red key for this. Wait..."

He suddenly remembered that Maritza had the red key from her earlier infiltration.

Theodore: "ROTH!!"

Nicky: "Hello, Neighbor."

Panicking, Nicky bolted, with Peterson hot on his heels. As Nicky ran, he spotted the open window from earlier. He leaped out of it and sprinted across the front yard, narrowly avoiding the bear traps.

Nicky: "Almost lost my leg."

Peterson continued to chase him relentlessly. Nicky barely made it to his house, slamming the door shut behind him just in time.

Nicky: "Whew, that was close."

Suddenly, the sky opened up, and it started raining heavily.

The downpour added an eerie atmosphere, the sound of rain pattering against the windows filling the silence inside Nicky's house. He stood by the door, catching his breath and trying to calm his racing heart.

Nicky: "Now how am i gonna get the key from her."

**Later... Ahh 9PM**

Maritza sat alone in her room, holding a photo of her with Lucy and Mya. Her eyes were red from crying, the pain of losing her friends etched deeply into her heart. A sudden clap of thunder made her jump, causing her to drop the photo.

Maritza: "This weather never stops."

She bent down to pick up the fallen photo when a knock on her window startled her again. Glancing over, she saw Nicky standing in the pouring rain. Hurriedly, she opened the window.

Maritza: "Nicky, what are you doing out there? Can't you see it's raining?"

Nicky, drenched and shivering, looked at her with urgency in his eyes.

Nicky: "I know, but I need that key."

Maritza: "What key?"

Nicky: "The red key you found last time at Peterson's."

Maritza's eyes widened in realization.

Maritza: "Oh yeah, let me get it."

She rushed to her dresser, rummaging through her belongings until she found the red key. She handed it to Nicky, who took it with a grateful nod.

Nicky: "Thanks, Maritza. I need to get back into Peterson's house. I almost got caught earlier, but this key is our chance to get into the basement."

Maritza hesitated, her worry evident.
