dawg idk how curse energy works but ok

————————-

Sayuri tried not to doze off when the principal gave his speech. It's been two hours now. Her head was starting to hurt from the amount of cursed energy in the room.

A part of her was scared that if she fainted there and her brother found out, he'd take her out of the school and she wouldn't have this chance ever again.
With a sigh, she took out her sunglasses and wore them. Instantly, every information around her was blocked out and she released the breath she was holding.

A tap on her shoulder made her tilt her head to the side to look at her new classmate and friend, Saomi, a brown haired girl shorter than her with a timid smile.
"What's with the glasses?"

Ah, this was going to be a long day.

Another hour later and the first years were finally released.

Sayuri stood up with her classmates, heading outside where their seniors were waiting for them.

"Now, we're going to have a tour around the school and once we are done, you guys will go to your respective classes!" It was the student council president who said this, Nijimura Shuuzo was his name. He had spoken half of the time on stage, introducing their school rules and motto to everyone. Sayuri learned that he was also the captain of the basketball club. She could not believe she had already spoken to the captain of the club.

"Class 1-A, line up and follow me!" The senior handling her class waved them over and soon their tour began.

Nestled in a serene campus, Teiko was a private middle school that holds a series of modern three story buildings. Adjacent buildings served different purposes where most specialised facilities like libraries and laboratories were at the left side while on the opposite sports the athletic facilities. The athletic facilities's campus was bigger. Teiko was a school that focused more on their sports, having their students win every competition they attend. Losing was not an option. Those who lose were made to become laughingstocks.

Sayuri recalled how most of the principal's speech was about winning. Couldn't they just play or join their chosen clubs because they have passion for it? THEY'RE MIDDLE SCHOOLERS! It's not that serious.
Though, she couldn't help but feel a bit motivated and her competitive side was coming out. She wanted to know how it feels like to win for her school and make them proud of her.

The tour took another two hours and by the time they were in their class, Saomi was leaning against Sayuri for support from her fatigue of walking around.
Sayuri looked around her new class. It looked just like the classrooms she saw on high school dramas. Everything was organised and clean. It was different from her home's library where there were papers and books everywhere.

"Alright then, everyone, thank you for your cooperation today. You may have your rest now and explore the school on your own. In thirty minutes, please head down to the main campus so you can register your chosen clubs."

Sayuri's eyes widened. FINALLY!

"Shiroi-chan? Where are you going?" Saomi was slumped over a desk when she saw her friend moving to leave.

"I'm going down to register for a club." Sayuri replied. "Do you want to join me?"

Saomi shook her head, "I'll go down later, I'm tired," she breathed out, "You have crazy stamina, Shiroi-chan. You did not break a sweat the whole walk around the school."

That made the latter grin, "I'll take that as a compliment. After all, I'm joining the basketball club so stamina is needed."

"Basketball?" Someone joined their conversation.
